Anyone still want to make the argument that having Brian Anderson's >.200 average is our biggest problem?

Just curious.

McCarthy's going to get the most blame, but Thornton really was pathetic tonight also. Isn't it amazing how many rallies you can have when you get contributions from the bottom of the order?

Fathom, you the one who wanted BMAC in. You got your wish. Go ahead and keep on blaming it on Ozzie!
Like I've stated, our pitchers ARE NOT DOING WELL right now. Will there be anyone who will point your finger at Cooper? It seems like when our pitchers are doing well, everyone jumps on Cooper's bandwagen. What happens if they are not doing well?

And you also meant our bullpen is going to pitch two shutout innings.

Haha. With out pen we're probably going to wind up needing to score eleven or twelve more.

How would people like trading for Soriano and sticking him in LF. You could trade Pods, Broadway and Fields for him. We would most likely be overpaying, but he could bat leadoff and provide 40/40 production. Realistically though, offense is not our problem and defense and pitching is, so its adding to a strength and making a weakness worse. That probably is not a good thing, but he would add some more spark to the team.

hes terrible in lf

Who else in the league has a change up like Santana? The McCarthy-Belliard at-bat reminded me of Cotts-Cattalonatto at-bat back in 2004 in the Sky Dome.

McCarthy's changeup is pretty damn good, as we've seen last season. He needs to throw it effectively. Cotts, on the other hand, has a weak breaking ball several mph off his fastball.

Does that mean only Santana should throw a changeup when hitters are unable to catch up to his fastball? It's f***ing ridiculous everytime I hear about speeding up bats. You throw 7 straight, 92 mph fastballs and they're fouling it off, you need to throw another pitch. His changeup is good; it's his fault for hanging it.

When the f*** did I blame Ozzie for what happened to McCarthy? I wanted McCarthy to start the 6th inning, as I think he's a hell of a lot more comfortable starting the inning instead of coming in with people on base. It's truly disappointing to see what we've made McCarthy into this season.

ill take that argument, Thornton had what 8 scoreless apperances before this? and the count had two of his pitching jems pissed away? this is a knee jerk reaction sure our bullpen has sucked tonight, but its been a culmination of things that have led to our level of suckitude. Leaving tons of Men on base, and having a CF whos hot right now, and can't play defense worth s***, and another CF who can lay down the glove but cant hit his own weight.

I really dont have any problems with the trades made in the offseason. The O needed a boost from last year, along as the 5th starter, and it was adressed. It would have been nice to get a bullpen arm back in the Thome deal, but no go.

Something needs to be done quick, and I really dont care if we have to overpay. This keeps up, were going to lose the season, and its all going to over the bullpen. The mother f***ing bullpen.

I don't mind the trades, but he ignored replacements. Hermanson was talking retirement last October. Politte wasn't going to come anywhere near his 2005 performance, all you have to do is look at his history, and fathom has pointed out, stats show he was the luckiest pitcher in the league last year. Vizcaino was a guy who always took the ball. Marte wasn't good, but he at least would keep a lefty pinch hitter on the bench. KW had chances to sign lots of guys, but even with the payroll going up $20 million , he strayed away from the formula used to build a world champion 88 years in waiting. He blew off the bullpen and relied on signing a bunch of minor league crap to fix the problem. Maybe his success last year got to his head. He has to remember he got lucky to. He wanted to sign Wright, and reports had him nearly signed until the Yankees came in at the last second and trumped the Sox offer. He wanted no part of AJ, and tried to get Jason Kendall. At least he came to his senses with AJ, because IMO, no AJ no WS.Its going to cost him a whole lot more to fix the bullpen now in terms of talent and money than it would have if he did it last winter.

When the kid says he doesn't feel comfortable in the pen because he can't get a feel for his offspeed pitches, and he's not a flame thrower....maybe he's not a good fit for the bullpen.

I hate the music Cleveland plays. They were playing that song from the Six Flags commercial with the dancing old man earlier. I thought it highly out of place.

Throw the baseball and get people out. Is nobody accountable anymore - a player screws up and management gets blamed. How many 'f*** Ozzie' comments have been made this year already - our only saviour in the last 90 years. Of course Kenny is gonna get his too.

I feel sorry for every fan who'll have to watch Garland pitch for the next several years. Talk about a contract which never should have been signed. Best we can do is trade Garica, get an absolute killing in return, and move McCarthy into the rotation.

Now Cotts is giving up HR's? Oh man, this is PATHETIC.

Um....he said it himself already this season. Don't worry, it was only a direct statement. Trust me, I'm not making excuses from him. His pitches have been up in the zone seemingly the entire year, minus the first 2 weeks of the season.

Im just going to ignore this comment, because I was in no way blaming Ozzie. I just feel bad for McCarthy, because he is a major-league starting pitcher on a team with 4 solid starting pitchers and 1 starter being overpaid for a mediocre career. He's too good to NOT be pitching, but hes just not a reliever. I don't know. Its a hard situation.
