  1. Past hour
  2. Wishful thinking, but JR is not eating that much of his remaining contract to go play for another team at the minor league minimum. No way.
  3. I dont see the point. If he wants to opt out, who cares?
  4. Whether you win 40 games or 50 games, it's still a shitty season.
  5. Baldwin's BABIP so far is also .522, so the reality is somewhere in between what he did in 2022/23 and such.
  6. Intentional, so Pham could move on to another team if the Sox didn’t call him up quickly, rather than be stuck in AAA with the Sox. But it’s not like Pham was hitting much in AAA. Maybe they go with him anyways because of his success last season and the fact that Grossman has been absolutely terrible. Either way, Getz is looking pathetic with all this roster scrambling. Dude, it’s over. Accept it. You are setting records.
  7. Seems quick. Only 3 games in the minors? Guessing they probably DFA Grossman? (if they even want to add Pham that is)
  8. Even if they manage .400 ball the rest of the way (they won't), they still won't hit 60 wins. This is legitimately a shot at a 50 win team.
  9. See what The Beast said. I do think there will be some time of unexpected expense (that's how it always works), which is why I think they beat the Sox to the punch. Because if you're funding the Sox stadium with the same revenue stream, your budgets have to be tight and you have to be in cost cutting mode if you're short at that point. But once shovels go in the ground (which Kevin Warren is aiming for this spring), then they're not going to stop. It's not. It's already something that's in place. It was set to expire, but if you've followed state or city politics, you should know that it was never going to go away. It was just going to be repurposed for something else, even if it's not a new stadium. See Illinois Tollway for example.
  10. Has an opt-out of today apparently. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/04/the-opener-pham-seager-crawford.html
  11. Idk but I'm rooting for it. If they're going to be this level of bad, let's see some history.
  12. Could be. You figure he couldn't have fallen off THIS badly. His numbers are Maldonado-level bad.
  13. Curious but I wonder if Jose has been battling some injury problem that has slowed him this spring ?
  14. Does anyone know the White Sox record for being shut out in a season? I believe 33 (being the worst of all time)is the cardinals record
  15. Today
  16. Oh, I agree. 100 is all but guaranteed at this point, and things aren’t looking up in any regard.
  17. Yeah I think once a contract is less than 2 years, you can start to justify DFAing him. At least that's what I've been saying to myself about Benintendi lol that you're stuck with him until about June/July Year 4 of his deal.
  18. If that were the case, they would last longer not less
  19. Obviously we can't see Abreu play every day, but from what I've seen he doesn't look to be enjoying himself. That could be from his poor play, but Jose was always a guy that looked like he was having fun when he was with the Sox (up until the end anyway). His poor play could be causing his poor attitude or vice versa. Likely it's a combination. Regardless, it's sad to see.
  20. There were a lot of people on this forum who clamored for Hahn to resign Abreu to a huge contract. I’m glad that he didn’t, he avoided a disaster. Not resigning Abreu is one of Hahn’s better moves as GM
  21. Its really encouraging to see players drafted in the later rounds doing well.
