assuming the yankees release stanton and quantrill, should the sox look at either of them, at least perhaps minor league deal to see if they can get straight?

interesting question. i'd say yes to stanton. his era chugs serious donkey penis, but he's been pretty good against lefties this season. i think they might be hitting below .200 against him. if we only used him as a specialist, he could be useful.

quantrill, on the other hand, couldn't get me out.

i think quantrill's arm might just be kinda tired after last season

They were released for a reason and it's because they suck. However, lefties are in demand and there is a remote possibility Stanton might be better than Walker. I guess you should never say never.

Quantrill has really gone down hill..The dude had like an EAR of 1.75 in 03 with the Dodgers and then went to the Yankees and all hell broke loose...some pitchers just can't pitch in that uni...

Stanton ain't got much left in the tank, but Kevin Walker doesn't even have a tank.

Take a look.

Dude has pitched in post-season.

He could help.

Saw all I needed to see from Walker against Arizona.

Why get Stanton for a week until Marte returns? There is no way he'd crack the six guys we have with Marte, and do we think we can store him in AAA as insurance against injury?

I say no. Maybe Boston will snap him up and worsen their bullpen woes.
