It a good plan if the tendonopathy is reoccurring. That's not something you want to linger, especially with a guy that tall. Unfortunate.3 points

Sean leaves with the lead, but on balance, a mostly unimpressive start by Burke.2 points

Teel is really a throw back player to the 90s and early aughts. High avg, high OBP, middling power at best but a solid defender at a premium position. Used to be a star archetype but in the 3TO era has been almost eliminated.2 points

If Sosa gets comfy at 1B this might be the infield for a while. At least until Bones is ready?2 points

Good, Ramos isn't even a JAG. No standout traits. At least Vargas has shown some ability to be a decent regular.2 points

Gotta give it to the Colorado fans, who always show up. The team's headed toward a 115-120 loss season, and they're in 15th place, drawing over 2.2 million fans. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh and its touted "best stadium in baseball" is just above the Sox in 26th place. The Pirates haven't drawn over 2 million fans to incredible PNC Park in 10 years -- proof that stadiums alone don't draw fans, good teams do.2 points

You're last sentence is a huge issue and IMO a deal breaker for any notion of having the Sox build a baseball stadium on the site of Soldier Field. Also, they better build a retractable roof there with that cold wind blowing right off the lake.2 points

It's almost like when I said there was a 100% chance that some of these guys would fail, I was right. Anyway, just like this season, guys are going to break out, while others flop. I know I would have laughed at the idea that McDougal might have had the best season for a SP at a higher level going into the season. You can make educated guesses, but baseball is baseball for a reason.2 points

key word is 'prospective' right? the actual key here is why are you bumping this thread lol re: Adams. Crochet "wasn't ready" either. I'm just throwing a name out there. I'm also agreeing with you that Shane is probably the guy.2 points

Teel looks like a guy who'll have 55-60 extra base hits a year. As a catcher he's Ted Simmons. As a first baseman he's Will Clark. He has good hands where ever you play him.2 points

Not near enough for someone with his talent. It's worth the risk to get him right. Although just the fact that the Sox brass took him out of the rotation gives me pause. Other than Crochet (who was really a Hahn guy draft for the pen), the pitching draftees have stumbled.1 point

Back before they changed the rules that pitchers have to pitch to 3 batters to speed up the game. The only reason we saw it tonight was Taylor only faced 1 guy because of injury.1 point

Yankees used six pitchers vs. Detroit today. White Sox legend and noted two way player Austin Slater was the only one to not allow a run1 point

Improving their 1 run record. 3-1 in the last 4 1 run games. Its always talked about how being better in close games is akin to learning how to win together. Of course it can't be quantified but its one of those baseballisms we always hear along with it builds character.1 point

It's the correct move, but in a game that really doesn't matter, I thought getting a promising reliever like Gonzalez a chance to close one out is a good developmental move. Gonzalez has much more of a shot at becoming a valuable reliever for this team down the road than Gilbert. Glad it worked though.1 point

And this is why Soxtalk quit allowing politics. This is over now. Thanks guys.1 point

When’s the last time you’ve seen a team enter the 9th up by one run, use three different pitchers in the inning, and walk away with a victory without giving up a run?1 point

Problem with trying to get the runner at 3B on that bunt is that Colson was barely going to beat him to the base, would have left so little margin for error1 point

Lol are you still clinging to that ? He wasnt worth anything close to what he might become. What would you have expected back for him ?1 point

Glad Burke settled down after he walked the bases full and got out of it unscathed except for pitch count . After 4 inings it's at a not too bad 59 pitches despite the 4 walks and 3 hits. Seems like he's throwing a lot of strikes to the guys he's getting out. 37 of the 59 pitches have been strikes. 5 K's.1 point
