  1. You view the front office as being KW & Hahn, when there are a lot more people that go into it. I’m pretty sure I heard or read there have been significant pro scouting changes since the Shields trade was made. I know we’ve added quite a few amateur scouts, both domestically and in Latin America. I believe we’ve expanded our analytics group in recent years as well. That doesn’t even account for Getz, Hostetler, Haber, etc. To say the front office is virtually unchanged is quite misleading, unless all the people whose input the decision makers rely on don’t count. And by no means am I defending Hahn or KW, but we have no choice at this point in the rebuild but to hope these personnel changes result in better decision making. These are the guys we’re stuck with and b****ing about their past failures won’t change a thing. Let me ask you this, what moves since the Shields have you disliked?

  2. lol He already gave his post-meeting interviews with both Hannity and Tucker Carlson. The official spin line will be out tonight. Several Republicans and Fox News personalities are already practicing it. We'll see a wave of Very Deeply Concerned statements from Republicans who will then do absolutely nothing, even the Deeply Troubled Senators who could grind his entire admin to a halt single-handily if they wanted to.

  5. Sorry dude, we're just "telling it like it is" If it is ok for Trump to do that(IYO), then it is ok for us to do that. No double standards. Just like when Hillary called Trump supporters a basket of deplorables. Oh, I'm sorry. Bill Clinton getting a blowjob in the Oval Office was an impeachable offense, but paying a porn star to keep her mouth shut during a campaign isn't? That's right. the GOP is the party of double standards. If a Dem does something, it is the end of the world but if a GOP member does it, it is nobody's business. So much for the party of moral high grounds and traditional values. Also, quit making excuses for a traitor.

  6. raBBit, is there anything that you disagree with regarding Trump? You've been carrying his water for 18 months. Seems odd for someone who claims to be independent.

  8. The same nonsense is going on in the Moncada thread. Just some chicken shit trolling is all it is. Maybe their mommy cut the cable to the basement and can no longer watch Sox baseball so now they are left with watching hentai on their sticky laptop.

  11. You thought a kid who never played a single at-bat for an affiliate and signed for only $800k had a good chance of being a top 50 prospect? If so, please send your resume to KW and maybe he’ll give you Rick’s job.

  13. God I hate these chickenshit reaction notifications. If you're gonna give a "confused" icon you should at least have to defend yourself. So what, someone here thinks Jose Abreu is gonna net a real prospect, show yourself, anon.

  14. There is enough time left where there really isn't a good reason for someone to make a big bid, and there isn't any reason for us to take a lowered bid when we have 3.5 years of control left with the kid. If he comes back and pitches like the stud we drafted, his price goes into Sale/Q territory. If not, we still have more time to try to get value.

  15. You're not wrong though. 8 in 30 minutes? That's awful booking. I would of loved to see just one fall and have be within the last minute. Would of made both look great, but they went with 8 falls which was terrible like the show.

  16. Dopico has some very good stuff, but command has always been a major issue. Here's a write-up if you want to know more, with video (4th pitcher in article).

  17. Look, the Tatis trade was terrible. We all know that. But even people who follow the Sox minor league system religiously, and apparently the people who were actually behind signing him, didn't see him blowing up. It happens sometimes when dealing with 17 year olds. It is what it is at this point.

  18. I think he's more likely to finish .260/.335/.790, with 35 2B 12 3B and 25 HR. If his legs get healthy he could get 20-25 SB as well, but I wouldn't run him that much in a lost season. We saw with Robert the perils of stealing.

  19. They won't and they don't. People keep on trying to convince themselves that a party of insane people is going to one day just calm itself down.

  20. There are only 2 DL's in the minors. Usually they go on the 7-day, which has a minimum of 7 days but can go any number beyond that. The other is the 60-day, which they only use for players who will assuredly be out for basically the full season. It is not used often.

  21. The All Star game is when the best players from the National League and the same from the American League play each other for 1 game. This year it is being played in Washington, DC.. There are festivities such as the Futures Game which was Sunday, The HR Derby and Celebrity Softball game.. It's a 4 day break in the schedule of all teams. I'd use google for anything else. The All Star game has an amazing history.

  22. And now some input from someone who knows what they're talking about: https://www.theringer.com/nba/2018/7/16/17575004/jabari-parker-chicago-bulls Some may assume Parker’s presence will take the ball away from Markkanen, thus hindering his own progress. But I’d bet that Parker will have a positive effect. There’s a perception that Parker needs the ball, but he can be used in a multitude of ways on the floor, just like Markkanen. via GIPHY Hoiberg ran offense through Markkanen in the ways you’d expect: in pick-and-pops, post-ups, and spot-up situations and by running him through screens. But Hoiberg also used the 7-foot Markkanen as a pick-and-roll ball handler. Now the Finnish big man has a frontcourt partner who can also handle or screen and pop for 3s or rumble down the lane. via GIPHY Considering how frequently defenses freely switch screens on high pick-and-rolls, their interchangeability could lead to preferable mismatches for the Bulls’ offense with either player in space against a slower or smaller opponent. Parker also shouldn’t negatively impact Carter on offense. In the half court, Parker can serve as another target for the rookie’s playmaking skills. Hoiberg could run Carter through a ton of high screens and feed him on the short roll, where he’s skilled and savvy enough to score, pull up, or make a pass. Parker likes to cut, and it’s easy to envision him playing well off of Carter. Parker, Markkanen, and Carter can also all rip down rebounds then take the ball up the floor and score in transition or initiate the offense. It’s a very modern team.

  24. Yeah it was. Here's some HR highlights from the futures game. Alonso's HR was murdered, yikes! Edit: Hunter with some funny commentary about 4-5 minutes in.

  28. I talked to some Cardinals fans when the Cardinals played the White Sox this past week. They thought the Cardinals manager would be fired at the end of the season if the team didn't make the 2018 Playoffs. They thought it was bad that the team hasn't been in the playoffs since 2015. They fired there manager yesterday, even tho he has never managed a losing team and he managed the Cardinals into 4 playoffs. From what I know the fans are happy about the manager getting fired. Imagine what the Cardinals fans would think if they had teams as bad as the White Sox have been the last 10 years.

  30. Well I was hoping to hit on at least one of those sort of reclimination guys. Everyone so far failed.

  31. I don't think there's any way Rodon gets traded. Coming off an injury and still so far the same inconsistent pitcher he has been for 4 seasons. The white sox shouldn't trade him unless they get an ace-like package back for him based on potential, but no one is giving up that kind of price until he proves he's actually an ace.

  32. It boggles my mind that a hardcore fan (who really likes Jose and watches him) could watch him every day for the last month and think he's contributing to winning. You don't need a spreadsheet for that. Jose has looked quite a bit like Konerko circa 2013. A guy that can no longer cover the inside corner and is completely screwed as a result. I love Jose Abreu but he's been worthless this year. Don't even get me started on his defense.

  33. Jose is now at ZERO fWAR. Good luck getting anything more than an A ball lotto ticket for him. Really sucks, Sox probably could have moved him in the offseason for a B level prospect, a legit back end top 100 guy.

  34. If Moncada finishes the year at .250/.320/.430/.750 and with 35 2B, 9 3B and 23 HR I don't know how anyone could call that disappointing for a first full season. If his trend is mostly real, he's basically on pace for that.

  35. Are all your other reasons this stupid?

  36. Well you have to put that into context. When did the trade take place and what was Albies doing at the time. No one expected the kind of powere he has shown at the time of the trade. If JImenez ends up an oft injured 1st baseman we'll think differently later.
