  1. Right on cue! Timmy with a bomb!

  2. It would help if he actually used a real follow through to dissipate the forces of the pitch and didn't throw from such a low arm angle.

  3. Engel's 49th batting stance of the year leads to the same result of the first 48

  4. Hard hit line drive to RF clearly only a hit at Coors East

  5. Probably not time to hit that home/road splits panic button after 5 road games.

  6. His home/away splits are pretty far apart; OPSing a robust 1.104 in Coors Field-Charlotte, a less-stellar .762 everywhere else. The vs. LHP split is a meek .583, though there are sample size issues there. On balance, Id still like to see him up his numbers away from the Charlotte bandbox & vs. LHP before he sees Chicago. After seeing Moncada's splits in AAA last year, I remain reluctant to rush the top guys like Jimenez up.

  9. Time to drop him out of the third spot. Put Avi 3rd, Palka 4th, Abreu 5th.

  10. They’d replace Santiago with Fulmer, so nothing to worry about

  11. But then who could provide the worst defense in the majors at first?

  12. Also a great job by Leury to come in from left field and cover third

  14. Mostly worthless tidbit of information - My friend is at the Seattle game today in lower box seats and sitting next to a credentialed scout. He said the scout (from unnamed team but wearing a hat with the California state flag on it) didn't write anything when Tim was batting, but was actively watching Leury's first AB and was typing away, then finished up in the middle of Abreu's at-bat. Leury to the A's, you heard it here first! /green Sure it doesn't mean anything, teams are always scouting each other for one reason or another, just something to pass along to the masses.

  15. Again, the focus on won't hurt him as opposed to what's best for his development. Is this really how you want the organization run?

  16. an extra month of playing in AAA isnt going to ruin his career

  17. Awesome call. You win. What is nuts is that for all of the big names at the top of the leaderboard, none of them got the job done.

  18. Odds are if its in cast already he won't need surgery it would be non-displaced or will will have had it. I doubt he had surgery this soon however.

  19. Plus that 3B depth also was a big piece to obtain Gerrit Cole.. If the Astros want Abreu, i would guess they see something they think they can fix unless it's just purely a matter of thinking they can get him on the cheap.

  22. The mlb needs an automated strike zone. Just have it tell the umpires through and earpiece whether it was a ball or a strike. It's as simple as that

  23. You’re insinuating that Trubisky was a mid round value, yet after the draft a scout came out and said he was the top QB prospect since Luck. And your opinion on Goff and Wentz has turned out to be wrong, so here’s to you hopefully being wrong on Trubisky.

  24. If 21 PAs outside of Charlotte is enough for you to think he's not doing that well, then ok. It's not like he struggled to hit at the Barons' home park, which is a major pitcher's park.

  25. Or, maybe, keeping him in AAA is hurting his development and he needs to be facing tougher competition so that he can improve as a player. It can be argued that said developmental time is more important that potentially having him for an extra year, which may not even happen because of the new CBA

  26. I don't think he's ready for Winston-Salem. Needs to get that average above .625 for me to even consider it.

  28. Also saw a stat that said he takes the highest amount of pitches with 2 strikes, which increases the chances of getting bad calls against him.

  29. Gotta hand it to Trump. He knows how to change the subject. No one is talking about the kids still separated from their parents. Now he’s back whining about NFL players kneeling. It is being thought Trumps team actually leaked the Cohen tape story to get off the Putin Russia debacle . What a shit show this presidency is.

  30. You’re saying they actully carted Zangari off for a hand injury? That seems pretty extreme.

  31. Moncada cannot be a full time starter if he cannot hit RH pitching, and thus far, he seems to have proven that he can't. I'm not buying excuses. This season is over half way done, Moncada will be 24 next year and Madrigal will be challenging for second base.

  33. eloy is hitting 342 with an OPS over 900 in AAA and we all arguing about petty shit. FFS I hope they call him up and he dominates. I'm all about service time but Eloy is a special talent. If he's ready he's ready. We could be looking at the next great WS player. Let the youngster get his feet wet and get that hunger even stronger. Ya'all wanna see a kid come up and go Torres style? Eloy could do just that, this August and September.
