  3. This team is done. No energy. No life. No hunger. They have assumed the identity of their manager. Nothing is going to change until they clean out the coaching staff. This is a lost season. Fuck you JR.

  5. How much do you think it has affected Vaughn having to play the OF and not getting to play his natural position? I look at Torkelson with the Tigers and it was the same situation only Cabrera gave up playing 1st so Torkelson could play his natural position. All this playing guys in positions they have no business playing has just been one of the reasons this team is a disaster. Sheets, Jimenez, and Vaughn are all being asked to play the outfield and not one of them should be out there.

  10. Leury would have had trouble beating out Harrison‘s deal on the open market, guaranteeing him three years was pure lunacy.

  12. TLR‘s lineup construction is especially terrible when so many guys are not hitting. You have to hit Vaughn, Robert and Abreu in some order back to back to back to have at keast a chance of getting something going. But Leury and his .487 OPS has to bat leadoff because he is fast and fast guys hit leadoff because that’s how baseball has always done it of course forgetting that the leadoff hitter leads off once per game.

  13. The entire fucking team does. When your manager has the energy of a corpse, what do people expect? They need an injection of energy and excitement in the dugout. TLR was one of the worst fits I've ever seen hired in any sport.

  17. Strongly disagree. As anyone who has had the misfortune to work under poor leadership will attest, you just go through the motions to earn your paycheck. There's little hope of success, each step forward leads to two steps back due to poor leadership decisions, there's absolutely no 'fun' being had, little camaraderie except to b**** and moan about how bad the leadership is, and the team leaders themselves begin to feel powerless (be it an office lead or, in Sox terms, guys like Abreu and TA). Management sets the tone for the entire team. It's often said how teams take on the personalities of their managers...does this look like a team being led by an 80yo incorrigible asshole? It sure does to me. These players KNOW baseball. If you and I can sit at home, with nothing but time invested in this franchise, and get pissed off at some of the unbelievably bad decisions being made with the lineup card, the bullpen, pinch hitting, etc., how do you think the actual players on the field are feeling about those decisions? They put in the effort but, time and again, their own manager changes Ws to Ls. Why even try? Why put in extra effort? Why put in the time and energy to be hyper-focused when they believe, truly believe, their manager will do something idiotic to render their efforts moot? Professionalism only goes so far....

  18. I hopped on board the rebuild train back in 2016. It sucked knowing the team was going to lose for at least 3-4 years, but at least there was a purpose for it and a plan. And quite frankly a promise of a future that was going to bring multiple championships. It was fun to follow the rebuild in hopes that those same players that were developing in the minors would bring a dynasty to the southside. It seemed like the beginning to an amazing story that was being written. And I couldn't wait to be apart of the climax. This was supposed to be that climax...that contending window. Well, the more they lose, the more disinterested I will become. I gave many years following the rebuild in hopes of championshipS. I am not going to continue to choose entertainment that doesn't bring me joy...because that's what entertainment is supposed to be. As much as I love the Sox...sorry, I have my own life to live. If they pull off a 2nd half miracle, I'll become interested again. Until then, game day score check it is. I might sound like a bandwagon fan saying this but I don't really care. I've given them enough of my money, time and attention.

  20. I've been a Sox fan for a hell of a long time and have seen many low points with this team. This is one of the lowest, maybe the lowest in the last 50 years. I don't think that much can be done in the short term. Trades are hard to make even under the best circumstances, and right now the team has little leverage. You can only hope that injured players play well when they return. The current disappointment of this team is symbolic of the how it is run. Starting with the insane way of hiring a manager, things are done in the same old way. I have little faith in things getting better. Most other teams would have fired the manager by now. That doesn't solve everything by a long shot, but sometimes change like this sometimes is a catalyst for other things. But then again, most other teams would never have hired LaRussa in the first place. Instead, they would have done a wide search for an important hire like this. The White Sox did nothing like that. They chose to hire a pal. I don't know if anyone in the organization sees how bad things are now. If the Sox finish under .500, you are going to alienate an already diminishing fan base. But maybe they don't care about that.

  22. Alright boys, we’re coming off four straight losses and currently sit six games back of the Twins for the division lead. To say winning this game is important is the understatement of the century. Time to right the fucking ship and that all starts with a quality Cease start. I’m expecting seven innings of one run ball from Dylan today. That should hopefully give us a great chance of winning despite a shit offense and horrible manager. When it’s all said and done, I think the Sox win this one 3-1. Let’s fucking go!

  41. Yes they did blackballed him. In fact, as I recall, Cuban's bid for the Cubs was actually higher than Ricketts bid, but the owners led especially by our demented owner Reinsdorf didn't want Mark Cuban in MLB. I agree though, he would be an awesome owner for the Sox and a million times better than the worthless POS Reinsdorf.

  42. Grandal at DH. The default now is to shove every LH hitter into the lineup vs RHP, no matter how bad they are. Engel and Burger have hit RH far, far better than McGuire, Moncada and Grandal but not in lineup

  46. You know what sucks? This team could very well get a little healthier, play semi-good baseball in July and August by beating division teams, and win this weak ass division with 85-87 wins. Now, what’s wrong with that? I’ll tell you… They’ll play the “nobody believed in us” card while they put the Division Champions hats and shirts on, and then immediately lose 2 out of 3 at home, or at the most, make it to the division series and go out quietly like last year. At that point, it’ll be, “the postseason is a crapshoot, and we’re proud of how this team bounced back in the second half”. Same shit, different year. And on to more roster moves that don’t put the Sox over the top in 2023. (If this doesn’t happen, and they actually make the ALCS this year, I will bump this and call myself out)

  48. Feels like every game this season has been the Sox trailing by 2, in the later innings, with a sub replacement level reliever on the mound to try & keep the game close

  49. Cool. Then winning and losing during the season doesn't matter and you can no longer complain about their record. Good to know.
