How the hell can this organization not understand the basic concept that in all divisional games where there is a two game swing, you start your nine best damned players every fucking day, and you get the scrubs their damned playing time when you play the oaklands and baltimores and inter league games that literally mean nothing in terms of divisional jockeying? How are we this dumb?7 points

THAT is how stupid this organization is...."Hey Eloy, we're going to send you on a rehab assignment." "Sounds good, but not Charlotte, I've been there before." "OK!"6 points

Agree on all the above. Regarding Vaughn, while any competent organization would be developing him at his natural position in the minors, the Sox had him prematurely in the majors playing a position he had never played before. That's not how you develop a young player, that's how you ruin one. As for Burger, his development was delayed by two severe Achilles injuries that would have probably ended most careers. It's impressive that he was able to come all the way back to make the major leagues and he is still developing. That "young championship core" of TA, Moncada, Eloy, and Kopech were never as good as the hype.5 points

That Vaughn at bat in the 10th was really one of the worst at bats I've seen in awhile. I have been defending him, but that was just beyond awful. And then you would think a veteran like Grandal would have learned from the Vaughn at bat but he went up there and did the exact same thing.5 points

He is a moron that would only be hired by us. You can't script s%*# when you are on regular season life support. When he got 6 pitches to get 3 outs, you could have said, we will see how the 1st and 2nd batters go next inning.4 points

Lol, come on man. Must be nice to know what all these universal top prospects were going to be without the benefit of hindsight. Like are you seriously not considering that maybe the Sox have failed to develop them?4 points

its been longer than 2-3 years... its been about a decade. Hack n slash at every pitch is not a championship formula.4 points

Robert could be the stupidest baseball player I have ever seen an absolute fucking moron with a baseball IQ less then zero. Grifol is not much brighter. Whoever manages the bullpen is clueless.4 points

Scripts need a rewrite after only 6 pitches to get 3 outs. Why burn 2 relievers instead of just one and why bring in the non closer ?3 points

My thoughts are you see that pitcher warming up in the bullpen. Now I don't know whats the percentage of swings on pitches out of the zone for him. I'm just guessing that he gets a lot of them. A well prepared team with a good video analysis department should have those kinds of reports on every pitcher and have that info readily available at the start of a series. That info should be available to every player and brought up by coaches before the inning starts . Then it's up to the player to use that info . I have no idea how good the Sox video analysis department is nor how often that info is reinforced upon entry into a game by opposing pitchers. Hitting is very hard and smart hitters , smart coaches and a good infrastructure behind the scenes all mean a lot. It's a team game in a lot more ways than just the manager.3 points

Random Thoughts: *7th time this year the Sox took a lead into the 7th inning or later…and lost the game. *The Sox continue to put players in position to fail by playing them out of position. Jimenez, Vaughn, Sheets, Burger, Frazier et al come to mind. *The Sox almost seem to be thumbing their noses at things like defense and fundamentals. It is costing them games yet no one is held accountable at any level. *Tim Anderson is simply not a very good shortstop. Another "bobble" in a key situation. *The Sox bizarrely insist on “resting” guys (usually their best players) IN DIVISION GAMES instead of waiting for non-division opponents. Example they play the Angels on Monday, why couldn’t guys play today and take Monday? Plus you can question if they even should have any days off. The Sox get off days on the 1st and the 5th. This continues to be an incompetent, dysfunctional and inept organization from top to bottom.3 points

Ok quick question but before I post it I admit that it was mostly bad defense and poor pitch calling that led to the run in the 9th. Ok my question......Why in the hell does Pedro think that a veteran pitcher like Joe Kelly needs to get out there the next game to help his confidence? If a veteran reliever cannot shake off what happened yesterday, he is in the wrong profession.3 points

I’ve been saying this for a while. I think it was all team propaganda and the fans ate it up. Teams like Boston and GMs like Epstein don’t get taken to the cleaners by the likes of Hahn. Moncada looked lost from the time he arrived. His one good year was an aberration. Kopech was always just a thrower. Jimenez was never going to be more than a DH. The book is still out on Cease and Vaughn. Burger is decent. Robert is a stupid player and a stupid person who can’t even remember his coach’s name. And he’s hurt all the time.3 points

He was not pleased. Len doesn't get too critical, but he is not kissing ass when the team plays shitty. Len will say something like "I expected XXX to do/throw XXX". Both were on the awful pitch calling to Greene on multiple at bats. Can't hit fast balls, Grandal calls for breaking balls to get burnt in critical spots. Sox should have won three of four in Detroit. Instead, they lose ground.3 points

I watch very few games anymore. Decided to watch today. This team is absolute garbage. We aren't even in to June yet and they are totally dead in the water. If it wasn't for KC this is a last place team. And hey, they still might be. As we all know the whole thing has to be burned down. And that can't happen until JR and RH are gone.3 points

No Moncada, no Benintendi. Poorer defense. Think we need to have the best lineup possible on the field in this situation down 2-1 in the series.3 points

Since the start of the 2007 season they have had only five winning years. One of those was a pandemic shortened 60 game season. We shouldn't be surprised.3 points

It's all about developing young talent. Good organizations take a high draft pick and start him out in their minor league system where they are acclimated to professional baseball, observed and then allowed to work on areas they need improvement and taught fundamentals if lacking, and also the finer points of hitting and fielding their positions. As they show they can handle the level of competition they are promoted to a higher level until after a couple of years or more they are ready for the major leagues. There are exceptions of course, but those are usually the superstars with elite talent. The Sox draft Vaughn, a good hitting 1B prospect and instead of developing him in the minor leagues, throw him into the fire in the majors on what is supposed to be a championship contending team, and instead of playing him at his natural position make him play a position he has never played before, forcing him to try to adjust to major league pitching while trying to learn a new position on a team that is expected to win now. He should have been in the minors learning the finer points of playing defense at 1B for those first couple of years. Instead now he's the starting first baseman after not having played there regularly for a couple of years and so it's no surprise that he hasn't played exceptionally well there defensively. Still, he's leading the team in RBIs and his defense should improve with experience. He's still young so he may still reach his potential. The point is that the White Sox organization does not develop it's young players the way competent organizations do. Fortunately Vaughn wasn't ruined but his development was most likely delayed. But that kind of handling can ruin a young player. To make a long story short, this organization sucks.2 points

Well, look at the flaws in the guys coming up. When’s the last position player who’s lived up to his potential to have spent a significant amount of time with the team throughout his development? I can think of one (TA) in recent memory. the team has always been in such a rush to bring guys up from the minors to help NOW (like Vaughn) that it’s been to the detriment of their long term success.2 points

I got the impression during the whole game that the White Sox tv announcers (jason and Steve) wanted the Tigers to win the game. Perhaps they should be announcing elsewhere.2 points

If a guy throws 6 pitches to get 3 outs, send him out for another inning - especially if he’s familiar with closing a game.2 points

I don't even know how you people can watch the games without it on mute. Len and DJ don't sugar coat this bullshit. When I watch game recaps, I mute it because I cannot stand hearing Benetti for a second. He seems nice on interviews, however, should just stick to Basketball and Football. He is too spastic verbally for baseball. And that's a White Sox loser.2 points

Giving Kelly the top of the order who killed him yesterday would be gutsy. Dumb, but gutsy.2 points
