  1. You think that's evidence? This board is the 228th busiest baseball site with a message board. These numbers are public. To put this into context, this all started because I wished Moncada the best and that post has the most "likes" in this thread. Maybe traffic is down because of people like you and not people like me. IDK.

  2. If you only were half as smart as you think. Root for minor leaguers. I hope the guy is a star, but again, with these guys, it isn’t going to happen. Instead of being blind, get a clue. Learn from what you have seen. It’s history repeating itself. When the Powerball gets to a billion, I buy a ticket. It’s a waste of money. Some people buys hundreds of dollars of tickets. That’s what you are with this regime.

  3. Your love for players nobody wants is pretty hysterical.

  4. I don’t think development is linear. And also, my goodness this thread sucks.

  5. This from the guy making morality judgments of those who feel they don't owe Jerry Reinsdorf a dime.

  6. I just wanna give a shout out to the “HOT!” tag that shows up on some threads for helping identify which ones currently have bickering, and thus which ones to avoid.

  7. No one is paying you to say anything. High level members of the front office, both in marketing and baseball ops visit the board frequently. If you don’t want to believe it, that’s your choice, but it would make you wrong.

  8. No, which is why I have zero opinions on his ability to play CF. I can give statements about it his offense based on his statistics, but those don’t extend to minor league defense.

  9. Why do you seem to think that this is some sort of burn or something? You could say the same thing about every Sox fan that attends games. Unlike you, Dick Allen recognized complete and utter failure and decided to stop supporting a terrible team and its owner.

  10. There is a difference between hoping for the best for a guy in the White Sox’s system and being over the top positive because you cant acknowledge that the GM did a bad job in his trade.

  11. I’m just curious, who on this board has watched Zavala play? I have and he’s decent in center. Deceptively fast. Real question with him is syncing up the swing. If he does, he’ll walk a lot, above average power, stolen bases and a good arm. If he doesn’t, he’ll never get out of AA. Probably the 3rd best outfield prospect in a system with very few legit outfielders. Personally, I am rooting for him.

  12. Now you do. Here’s Law last year befor the Sox acquired him His defense took a step back last year and he is all but certain to end up in a corner. Scouts commented on a lack of focus on defense and even sometimes in the box as well

  13. I knew it was much deeper, but seeing some of these names does really reinforce that point. Zavala would firmly be a top 15 to 20 prospect in most years for us and he’s not even making the top 30. Imagine if we actually had a LatAm pipeline to supplement the prospects we already have in place.

  14. He was 19. Over 3 years younger than the avg player. Age relative to league.

  16. I understand not liking Drew Thorpe but posters calling the Cease trade a failure due to the 4th piece not working out is hilarious. We won’t have answers on that Cease return for years.

  18. Wow NRI already made the team and now it's a plan. You know the plan without or without Drury.

  19. What's your plan to make the team good again without spending money ? This might be the last year to hope to catch lightning in a bottle with some usable 1st halves. And yes again its not much of a plan , just like last year, but they are gathering up plenty of bodies to throw into the mix and try to increase the odds depth.I'm thinking 2nd half of the season will be mostly youth. Plenty of these guys will be outrighted and maybe even have productive years with other teams just like that 40 yr old reliever you got bent out of shape about. Honestly when you're choosing among a bunch of rejects its pretty difficult to know who to keep and give legitimate shots.

  20. That’s fine then. It’s so cheap but it might make a nice gift for family and friends that don’t know how terrible the Sox are. Imagine being the owner of a sports franchise in which you have to sell tickets for $4.63 a piece because your product is so bad… and you STILL make money. Jerry is such a bum.

  21. Fisher is about a Billion dollars short of someone building him a ballpark.

  22. And the same owner who wants taxpayers to pay for his new stadium. The irony is delicious. Apparently, the world only owes Jerry something…

  23. You just mentioned two franchises that have been abysmal for decades outside of a decent season here or there. Reinsdorf is still the common denominator.

  24. Imagine following a team where the best and perhaps only hope for the future is the owner dying so this his family can avoid paying capital gains taxes…that team/fandom is held hostage for a generation of fans over essentially $100-150 million. And the team’s value is falling by the day.

  25. In the past, Rick Hahn even stated that he reviewed Sox message boards. I’m not sure why this is some big surprise. Also, perhaps traffic is down because the Sox absolutely suck and fans are fed up with Jerry’s clown show?

  27. That is going so well for the other teams trying to do that. They aren't leaving.

  28. I think the worms will get to him before that ever happens. He has zero leverage. His team blows and the Cubs are still in the same city.

  29. What does the Sox sucking balls have to do with the world owing anyone anything? The world didn’t gift Sox fans with a record setting season of futility. Jerry earned that achievement all by himself.

  30. It reads like more of the same .. miserable little people who complain about everything and think the world owes them something.

  31. A bad team with a bad owner who promoted a guy to GM that is in over his head and making bad moves.

  32. Nothing entertains me more than the people who do nothing but complain about this place, yet has to be here every day to correct people... almost as if needing to influence public opinion.

  33. I know for an indisputable fact Chicago teams care about message boards. To the point that moderators of one team message board receive team swag deliveries directly from the team.

  34. I think Elias wants a good team for a long time instead of a great team for a short time. He'll keep all his top guys and have really good teams year after year and hope he has the right mix to occasionally win something. That org was so bad for so long I would be surprised if he did go all in on a season.

  36. So everyone pretty much thought the Crochet trade was good, but if I say it was good it doesn’t count? Okay… Getz was “overwhelmed and misled by the Dodgers”? What is he, a 10 year old boy getting cheated by an adult at Monopoly? 🤣 That’s called you making more excuses for Getz.

  37. Zavala will have to steal the outfield job away from Fletcher first. 🤣

  38. I mean, why do we have to remember any of that lol. It doesn’t make a difference today

  39. I don’t remember that either, after Addison turned the Sox down, Governor Thompson, Mayor Washington and the State of Illinois agreed to build the new stadium but only where it is right now. Back in the 1960s Mayor Richard J. Daley and Arthur Allyn talked about a Sports Complex with a new Sox stadium, a new Bears stadium and a new Blackhawks arena in the “78”. Bears wanted nothing to do with it and that was that.

  43. Anyone just think about all these other sites over the city that are supposedly these wonderful opportunities for a megadevelopment? Old US steel site. South Deering. Lincoln Yards. Feel like I’m forgetting some. Only no one is interested. Related Morons keep blowing it. Sterling Bae. The City of Chicago. You know what’s a great site for development? 35th and Shields. Great transit connections. Median household income increasing rapidly nearby. Adjacent to one of the most important central business districts in the hemisphere. The developer could even get a bunch of state and city grants to build there. They already have a ballpark there, even! 🤑 Something I love about JR is how bad he is at making money. The nerd had one good idea.

  44. I read about a month ago or so that the Fire might be joining in with plans for a soccer stadium at the 78 along with a Sox ballpark. So, this news isn't totally new. IIRC, with U of I pulling out of the site and moving their research center to the tech center being developed at the old US Steel South Shore site, the developer has said that there is now room for a soccer stadium at the site along with the other things they already have planned for there.
