  1. I think it's scary but I'd rather do that then trade him for pennies I never thought Cincinnati talks for that serious. As soon as names start to leak, talks are dead.

  2. As long as it’s not at the expense of anyone interesting, I selfishly want Gallo to make the team so I can see him bat .105 with 25 HR and 27 RBI.

  3. That’s fine, you certainly are the bigger man here coming back here almost three weeks after my comment to talk about me being thrown out of college for bad grammar or spelling. Just walk away from this knowing that you have the upper hand now on me, and I know it. It hurts tray, that you will never respond to me ever again even when you have the opportunity to call me a cubbie troll or traitor, you won’t. It really hurts, Tray

  4. The guys they brought in are better than Anderson and Abreu.

  5. LMAO. Expert trolling. No one things rebuilding is sexy. That's a total lie. When you have a 56, and then 41 win season in succession, you don't have a season to be competitive with anyway, and it would take billions and billions of dollars worth of free agents to change that.

  6. Eh, we know they are going to suck but there are some interesting young players to watch for their own individual performances.

  7. As a long time Sox fan I can't believe you are serious with these ideas. Anderson is DONE, finished. Plus the fan base has turned against him 9with good reason in my opinion), Jose is DONE he was a disaster in his time with Houston and who knows how old he actually is. Not saying the stiffs and retreads the Sox have now are any better but there may be a possibility of getting something for them down the line however slight. Anderson and Jose won't get you a bag of balls.

  8. In one of his last interviews he spoke with Paul Sullivan of the tribune and that is what he said, he wanted to go in wearing a White Sox cap. At the 40th anniversary celebration for him and the 1972 team he also said at the dinner where he spoke that he wished he could have played his entire career in Chicago. He said the fan base understood the game and appreciated the little things like moving runners over into scoring position.

  9. How many of those are Sox sites? When it comes to the Sox - this place has more traffic than any of them - especially discussion. Twitter can have more isolated comments - but actual people trending together on views - this is it. Also in terms of actual baseball forums or reddits - it is a high volume board - but yes - slower than the past - given the broader dynamics - but also heavily due to the team. But overall - I wouldn't trade this for anything - its a true community....its also purely a hobby...not like we've ever operated it as a for profit or business. It really is a place for Sox fans from all over the world to be able to come on, vent, root together, etc aligned to a common goal.

  10. Just like last off season. Boring. If the team avoids losing 100, it will be considered a success. When will the Sox become a respectable team? When the club gets serious about acquiring real major league talent. I am not buying into this so-called rebuild. Been through it before. Even if there is success, it doesn't last long.

  11. Getz is doing the minor league depth thing that always eluded Hahn, but has struggled to field a major league team. You know, if you combined Hahn and Getz, you might just have yourself a slightly below average GM.

  12. JR learning that the most loyal fanbase in the NBA is getting tired of his s%*# It's amazing because Sox fans and especially Bulls fans print money if they have contenders. Dude is the most short sighted owner in sports.

  17. I'm so tired of listening to Getz talk and do his rounds like he has accomplished anything (Other then losing the most games in history). He seems so prideful and boastful of this process/rebuild he is putting in place. He needs to STFU and talk less until his teams on the field play the type of baseball that will bring many of us back. Loser organization always doing loser things.

  19. rotation" Cannon, Burke, Martin, Perez, Iriarte bullpen Karinchak, Anderson, B. Wilson, S. Smith, Booser*, Varland, Ellard*, Murfee c - Thaiss/Lee 1B - Vaughn 2B - Drury 3B - Vargas SS - Baldwin OF - Benintendi, Taylor, Tauchman/Slater DH - Sosa bench - Rojas, Colas Anderson loses the closer spot to Karinchak after a few weeks. Thorpe starts the year rehabbing in AAA. Perez, B. Wilson, and S. Smith can't be optioned. Oh, and Robert gets traded. Edit: whoops, had one too many bullpenners. Took out Shuster.

  20. Yes, it is. This just shows you how bad Getz knows that he fucked on that Fletcher trade, when he didn’t take back Jake McCarthy. He can’t even entrust Fletcher to backup CF so he has to give old man Taylor $2 million guaranteed.

  21. See, my memory of Dom in CF is him “oops”ing that easy catch into a home run with crochet pitching. Affected the era and maybe his trade value. He’s too slow and short. Good mind for the position. Not the athletic talent. No Luis. Not even Taylor.

  25. I'm not even saying he would be a bench player. I'm saying he would be the backup SS., but start at 2B. That doesn't mean I'm saying he just sits on the bench, Mr AI Bot caulfield.

  29. You can't be a fan of acquiring Joey Gallo and some of these other old guys from other teams can you? My point is the only thing that matters are the young pitchers and a few position players that aren't ready. So in the interim it's obvious the Sox are bringing in a bunch of old lousy hitters. Michael Taylor? Cmon. Austin Slater, Mike Tauchman, DeLoach. Give me Anderson and Abreu and some other former Sox mediocres hanging around other teams.

  30. True. My stances are twofold usually. I can find reasons for optimism . I can also know last year was terrible and it was apparent it was to going to be bad from the get go despite what JR and Getz said. I always maintained piling up junk and trying to turn it into gold was a poor plan but likely the only one available to any GM who took the job. I've used metaphors like the Sox are crack addicts trying to sell their banged up Rolex to a pawn shops ( the other GMs ) and getting take it or leave offers because JR put Getz over a barrel. And it's the same plan this year but with more prospects ready to play this year while still trying to turn crap into filet mignon. I know what's going on sucks but I'd like to think we hit rock bottom and there will be progress behind the scenes even if on field results are still 110 loss bad. If it wasn't in poor taste I'd make a poll .What happened 1st a new labor agreement or JR passing away ? JRs going to live as long as Virginia McCaskey did.

  32. There is a bar at Gate 5 now, but that's the only thing they've ever developed. The team store is open daily, but the bar is only open on game days, and not very late after games. It's hardly a money maker. The two bars on 33rd do far more business on game days than said bar attached to Gate 5. I've never put much stock in the rumors that the 'neighborhood' wouldn't let the area be developed. Presumably Jerry doesn't want to lose his parking monies or compete with outside businesses syphoning off money that would otherwise be spent in the park.

  33. Yep, I just realized that. I forgot he was acquired from the Cubs and had a major league contract. Still going with Gallo and Drury.

  36. This Dodgers one is particularly baffling cause they've shared Camelback for so long that Getz was a player for the Sox when it first opened. If this magical success-by-osmosis was going to happen, it'd have probably happened by now. Why didn't Chris walk over to their minor league fields in the past 8 years and figure out how to run a farm?

  37. And yet he didn't trade Luis Robert at peak value in 2023. He's either an idiot, or he's lying. Pick one.

  38. “With that being said, it’s a great opportunity to be matched up at a facility with a team that won the World Series to have something to aim toward. How are we going to beat them? How can we compete? The Dodgers have been a very successful organization. With that being said, we know what we need to do, and we’re setting out to do that.” Spending on free agents obviously would help. But with that being said, Getz knew when he accepted the job in 2023 that a full-scale rebuild was his only option. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/paul-sullivan-white-sox-return-to-camelback-ranch-in-the-age-old-tale-of-the-haves-and-have-nots/ar-AA1yVS1k?ocid=BingNewsSerp Last paragraph seems a bit like revisionist history.

  42. A temporary renewal while something is being constructed makes sense, but it doesn't make sense for new ownership to want to be wedded to that site. They're not going to get the same ridiculous sweetheart deal that Reinsdorf got if they do a long lease, it was a bad deal for the state last time. Furthermore, there's clearly been no opportunity whatsoever for development around the stadium site in the current area. For a modern ownership group, the ability to develop surrounding real estate is really important, that's where a lot of the money is.

  43. If KW is gone, why does Law still hate the White Sox? But in all seriousness, I really, really hope Colson shows up in the make or break year. He's eerily trending down the Moncada path: left-handed (yes, I know Moncada is a switch-hitter, strikes out looking, back pain) and it scares me.
