  1. And yet it got 2 likes. Even if he got the name right it's still a ridiculously stupid post that only you had the guts to say anything about . No one can prevent injuries in human arms when there's constant stress that throwing a baseball requires and certaining not biomechanic guys. It just shows a gross ignorance of the purpose of biomechanics while somehow acting like biomechanics is a bad thing and Getz trying to modernize is a waste of time. This place is so toxic .

  2. God it would be awesome if the prosecution was a rabid Sox fan, and just asked him a ton of questions about the state of the team, why did he hire La Russa, why hasn't he signed a player to a $100 million dollar contract, etc. 😂

  4. I know Hahn has become shorthand for blame around these parts, but to be frank what has changed since then? It's been almost two years now, and you can only point the finger at so many soon to be ex-players. Why are we still not able to call up a kid from the minors that we can trust and/or who has a grasp on fundamentals? Why do we keep having to look outside of our minors to find guys who already know how to work hard? Over these last couple of years, why has no veteran had a turn around since all of these changes took place? There is a lot of talking, fingerpointing, and PR releases, but I still see the same picture.

  6. Comment I saw on Reddit was that at least the White Sox have given us lots of random fun stuff. Lightning in a bottle WS team with one of the most dominant playoff runs ever A president, a pope and a brief stint by Michael Jordan 5 no-hitters, of which 2 were Perfect Games. The other 3 were nearly perfect. Field of Dreams game Absolutely dominant players (that they could never surround with depth) Some of the best aesthetics in the sport On the flip side, I don't know if any team has weirder negative s%*# happen to them, like the Drake LaRoche stuff or a fan getting shot in the bleachers and no one noticing.

  9. Going from Renteria, for whom it seemed like players would run through a wall, to drunken baseball corpse who napped in the dugout probably throws a monkey wrench in the whole accountability and professionalism part.

  10. Schriffen symbolizes all that is wrong with this franchise and how it's being run into the ground by Jerry Reinsdorf. No, he doesn't affect on the field performance and I could live with a bad announcer if the team were on their way to winning 95 games, but he is a perfect reflection of how Uncle Jerry has run this team over the last 15-20 years.

  11. Clint Frazier described that whole situation amazingly. What a sound bite. The trainer telling him not to bother going out to check on ( guessing Eloy or Moncada) dying in the box was too funny.

  16. I've been called a lot worse by better individuals so your words bother me not an iota. I don't hate JR, have met him twice, we've exchanged nice letters. I hate what he has done to this franchise. Regarding my profession I can separate my duties and responsibilities in those areas with my fandom. They aren't connected.

  22. Harold gives me a first hand glance into the incompetence of the white sox with his takes and opinions and im grateful for that. No one hates quants in baseball more than Harold.

  23. Hawk was an ELITE play by play guy until around 2010. Then he declined rapidly and hung on too long. People mostly just remember the silly things he said at the end of his career but Hawk knew baseball and he had an air of authority that Jason and John never will. Jason at least wants to learn and obviously has an excuse for never playing himself. John claims he was a scholarship pitcher that blew him arm out and never played again. That is 100% BS. Nobody that played DIII let alone was on a scholarship would know so little about the game. John calls the game like an alien. He doesn't get anything about baseball.

  26. The picture hasn't changed because they keep promoting from within the same disfuctioning organization. Getz was a part of culture, scouting, player development issues yet he was promoted.

  29. And they seem to have zero ability to teach any of the mental aspects of the game, because no one ever seems to be baseball smarter after being here. In fact it is quite the opposite.

  30. There were, and still are, and abundance of issues with this franchise. But good God Pedro Grifol might actually be the worst manager in MLB history without exaggeration.

  31. I don’t think he really referenced him as a guy who was a problem but maybe more as a reference as a character in the clubhouse. Plus they’re friends with Lance Lynn so no doubt any of this story was really new to them.

  33. Game 2, Klu and Lollar were the slow pokes on base. Lopez pinch ran for Klu. He left in Lollar. Bad choice. Then, he ignored Pierce. Then, he started Wynn with 2 days rest. Lopez choked. I was at that game, too.

  34. I’m still mad at him for not starting Billy Pierce in the Series but game 2 was the key game which I attended. The Sox were rallying in the 7th inning but 3B coach Tony Cuchienello was the goat of the series when he sent slow runner home with the tying run with no outs and he was out by so much he didn’t bother sliding. Lopez did make a blunder starting Early Wynn in game 6 on 2 days rest, at the time most thought it was a good idea, Wynn was the Cy Young winner in 59 but unfortunately he was gassed and the Dodgers jumped all over him early and the Series was over.

  36. 100%. So many great ideas like those you mention could result in a great stadium that respects and honors baseball history on the South side, Zachary Taylor Davis' designs of Comiskey and Wrigley, and a park that takes full financial advantage of everything that is already in place. Regarding your point about opening up left field to a view of the neighborhood to the North and a view of downtown, that was the original design before they added the second deck. Likewise, Wrigley was a different park before Ricketts ruined the view with the giant scoreboard in LF and the other large screens blocking out the neighborhood. I recall seeing Dave Kingman hit what I believe was one of his longest, soaring home runs there. It isn't just you and I that think the giant scoreboard in LF at Wrigley is an abomination. Paul Sullivan has complained about the same thing.

  37. I did not remember having any interaction with this gentleman. I was just thinking of one of the funniest posts I have read on these pages (two years ago). I remembered the gist of the post and just looked it up and it so happened that it was Heads that had written that hilarious post. RIP.

  40. You can get an antenna dvr for $30. $150 is still dirt cheap when compared subscribing for cable/streaming so how is that even a complaint? That's a very limited market anyways. Antenna has better picture and is actually live tv vs streaming tv. Antenna is the superior option when its offered for FREE, no doubt.

  45. I can't tell if you're joking, but most tvs have an antenna built in. Also, countless new channels and services have launched without full deals in place, this isn't unique to the Sox. The Sox just gave access to their games to almost anyone with a TV in the Chicago area and that makes them also bad?
