  2. And I would like to see better balance in the White Sox record over the last three years. 162-324 “balanced” enough for you? Because it isn’t for me.

  3. That's your opinion. I pick fights? No, but I will hold my own ...and then I know when to disengage with those who always want to have the last word. Now who starts s%*#? Look no further than a recent post in this thread where I wanted to make the point that the culture of Sox fans on the South side has been over a century in the making. Certain groups (like the S Side Irish community) and other ethnic groups took root on the South side and expanded out, largely to the S and SW suburbs. That is where the majority of the fan base is located. The fact is that the White Sox are identified with the South side, Sox fandom and all it entails. It is part of their culture. So the responses to that post immediately attempted to deflect and make it about age...Gen X fans v old fans on Social Security or something ridiculous like that. My point, which was pretty clear, had nothing to do with the age of fans. It did have to do with the long relationship between the White Sox, the location where they have played for 125 years, and where most in the WSox fan base reside. My guess is that most younger fans and even our young announcer understand that.

  4. Also there's a pretty high correlation between repeat outings in a series and worse performance for relievers. No reason to give the Cubs extra looks at their pen.

  5. Who are we to question the ways of the highest paid manager in baseball?

  6. lol now they are saying the Cubs were rolling the dice by starting Boyd

  7. How did I miss the second out? Ah well. Must resist the temptation to text wife's family full of Cubs fans...

  8. Lot of push to trade Quero here, and I understand why to an extent. But he's got a very good approach and handle of the strike zone. Hes gonna be an all star at some point and for a franchise who has trouble developing bats, don't trade one of your actual developing bats. I expect we'll see more power from him too.

  9. Yikes. Dude, it's a chat board. I've certainly gotten into my share of SoxTalk tiffs, and still do, but casually looking over the "78" thread, it's like you're picking fights with everyone over everything. While I disagree with the "lost a generation of Sox fans" idea, the Cubs make inroads into a citywide fanbase when they win, the Sox lose, and players like PCA capture the imagination of kids. That's important as us seniors shift to fixed budgets and die off/forget that baseball exists. I'm certainly not choosing a Shane Smith jersey over my next case of Busch Light.

  10. A fellow 34 year old! You and me both Bob. I really have no emotional connection to those Bulls or Jordan. Especially since he has had nothing to do with the Bulls since retiring.

  11. We used to have skunky beer parties, bring a case of cheap beer and we had a tub we would fill with ice we would dump them in. A lotta keystone ice, natty light, and high life 😂

  12. I'm not convinced they're all that good. Underwood would need to start showing more for then to win out.

  13. The Cubs look exactly like they did against the Padres offensively. That's not going to work against the Brewers unless the Cubs pitching finds another gear.

  14. I think the Brewers just want this game over with at this point.

  15. No. Save the bullpen, don't let the Cubs get in any kind of groove. Shut them down.

  16. Civale should have started, lol. He’s dominated.

  17. I know you gotta take the W, but would anyone have pulled Peralta early with the big lead and tried to pitch him again in Game 3?

  18. Imagine pitching Soroka AND Civale in a playoff game. They are this close to a position player pitching.

  20. This is how I feel about the 90s Bulls (I’m 34). Sure, they happened in my lifetime but I don’t really count them.

  21. Then stop whining about the “negativity” of the message board. If you couldn’t care less, then stop caring. Bro

  22. What’s hilarious about this is you’re probably a little upset that I slapped you down pretty good yesterday after you made the claim that “There's a constant tone of negativity on this board and it's typically misguided/not rooted in anything factual.” Yet today, when I stated how sad the discussion is around the future of the Sox based on factual information about the last decade plus of the franchise, all you can do is make a joke(??) about…someone suffering from depression? Yikes

  23. It’s hard to fathom how dumb MLB is. The last three days, during the week, there have been playoff games on during the day. Tonight, a Friday night, there are virtually no sports on and certainly not anything that would be better than Postseason Baseball. And the schedule is empty

  25. That overlooks like a hitter gets to hit once every nine team ABs, while a starting pitcher throws to all nine of them when they are in. Garrett Crochet was 2nd in MLB with 814 batters faced. Looking quickly the leading batters had about 700 PAs.

  28. They need a top pick so badly. While this looks great in isolation, take the Tigers who have the #2, #8, #33, and #37 guys in this list. Cleveland has 17/58/59. These are the types of teams we are chasing.

  29. The Tigers had 7 losing seasons from 2017-2023, bottoming out at 114 losses in 2019. Their low finishes allowed them to draft Casey Mise (1;1) in 2018, Riley Green (1;5) in 2019, Spencer Torkelson (1;1) in 2020, Jackson Jobe (1;3) in 2021, Jace Jung (1;12) in 2022, OF Max Clark (1;3) in 2023, and Bryce Ranier (1;11) in 2024. I'm not going to do all 4, but the Tigers and Royals have bottomed out, lost a lot, and built from within. The Twins and Indians have also built through the draft, while taking advantage of having 3 doormat teams in the division.

  30. Brad Keller is their best reliever lol. I'm not sure if they should feel bad for taking our rejects or we should feel bad that someone else is getting something out of our rejects.

  32. You admittedly do not watch many WSox games throughout the season and have recently expressed ambivalence as to the possibility that the Sox move the franchise to Nashville stating further that it would not impact you or some such thing. For some fans, like myself, all of sarcasm and negativity is tiresome to read. Speaking for myself only, I would like to see a better balance. Instead, we have a few posters who dominate the conversations , and you know who they are. And no need to slap anyone down. As Moderator, you know you should be better than that.
