Sox fans absolutely value parking greatly since that is the way most of them get to the games and most of them will never, ever  board public transportation in Chicago.

How does building at the 78 make the most sense ?  You haven't even seen a rendering or a site plan that includes parking for thousands of vehicles, access to surrounding streets and expressways. Please, if you have not done so recently, drive by the Area 78 site and let us know what you think. Take a few phone pics from the street and post them here.

Sox fans hate buses and trains. That’s a shame. Place will be empty

You’re right. We haven’t seen renderings yet, so obviously it’s going to be a fan-unfriendly dump.

If an agreement to extend the current Lease is made, a plan for a major remodeling of the existing park might be pursued. Not sure which plan would be architecturally/structurally/economically feasible, but I am sure there are plenty of ideas out there.

I always thought removal of the entire 500 level would not hurt revenue much and then replacing seating capacity with upper tanks in the outfield w/Palladian arched openings on the back walls like Comiskey had. Maybe make the center field monitor a regular rectangle with metal arch or analog clock above. Anyway, I am sure there are a lot of ideas out there that would cost a lot less and be done several years before entering into a complicated deal to develop the black hole known as Area 78.  I'd bet the bank that thing is never going to go.

It makes sense for Jerry to do the wrong thing. I believe you.

I don't see how that would work. Wouldn't most of the construction have to wait until the Sox stadium is fully built and they've started playing there?

So if it all jumped off tomorrow, it would be 5-7 years until the Bears can be 5-7 years away from moving in

Another dumb article. I don't blame JR for this. It's good business if he can get the politicians to pay for it.

I blame the dumbass politicians. I wouldn't give them a dime to build the stadium.

If Pritzker went back on his talk of protecting local taxpayers, he would seemingly hand over the hammer to hit him with in the following  election. I am impressed with how so-called insiders and sources are so optimistic. Yet if Pritzker is for real, this doesn’t sound feasible. I guess that’ll answer my own doubts, depending on a politician to be for real. Hopefully this is being financed by out of town money and mega dollared new ownership.

this twitter guy doesn't know what he's talking about and I don't think anybody cares what he thinks. lol, he thinks it's "self-sabotage" to ask for a mid 70s prospect in return for Cease? I'd rather just keep him than get less than that.

Once a pitcher starts down the road of lower velo, I think time is not gonna help his value

I'm going by B-R. Catching (I know that WAR isn't a good indicator for catchers), RF, 2B and SS were black holes for wins, last year, and a quick addition of the guys who got the most PAs at those positions looks like negative bWAR. I would expect Benintendi, Eloy and Vaughn to at least inch up towards their means this year, unless those are the players they are.

Nobody's claiming they're going to win the next 3 world series. It's not "insane", or I'm not "high on crack" to state that the 2024 team can win more games than last year.

Seriously, is there a rules of the site page here, where I should have read that being positive about a bad team is not allowed?

It’s almost like even MLB media and fans know that Ortiz has nowhere to go to due his age and team, and are trying to force the Orioles to trade his ass for his own sake…

But yeah, he’s still that 25.5 year old headlining young prospect that was rated 50 overall by the MLB last year!!!

I thought we wanted prospects that were increasing in value. Hmpff

If it happens here it can happen anywhere.

It literally happens everywhere. The question to help delineate is a matter of scale. As a result of public and state tolerance. I don’t recommend going there? There are better places to go. It is obviously consistent with many gulf and Caribbean islands and beach destinations in terms of beautiful natural aspects. If you went there though, you would understand.

I would assume that the country has a legitimate criminal justice system and that things fall through the cracks, in a similar vein to American states like Mississippi, Oklahoma, New Mexico etc (places without a statutory minimum age of consent) where state law and federal law are at odds. But I also assume that they would prosecute pedophiles like any other country would. DR is not exactly a shithole and the rich and famous get off of reasonable, actionable charges everywhere in the world so I wouldn't assume any more or less about the DR...but I bet Wander Franco's case is not something they'd want to f*** up because the whole world is watching. I assume justice will be done, or at least attempted at. Good luck to their prosecutors. Or, who cares about good luck, just hopefully that justice gets done.

Depends on what a shithole means to be defined. All I know is that Ive been there. I certainly didn’t study the demographics of the nation, but I have eyes, and could see very well the opportunities for rich foreigners to het involved with if they so chose. It’s not hidden. I assume local authorities are in on the game. I do agree they don’t want to f*** it up now that it is international news. Which is why I said I am surprised it got to that point.

  10. From what I understand about DR, I am surprised this is going as far as it is going. Not talking about corruption. Although there’s that. But if there’s a place where underage shenanigans is winked at and proliferating, DR would be one of those places. Franco may have messed with the wrong family of stature outside of the normal scumbaggery?

Right, so the whole idea that he’s waiting for one of those pitchers isn’t correct.

And the whole idea that he hasn’t gotten a deal i say is unreasonable is also correct because, as you said, any reasonable person would make that trade.

Nobody knows what is correct. And both  fanbases are unreasonable. because both fanbases are always unreasonable in trade scenarios.

You’ll be back when Jerry finally opens up the purse strings for a top free agent like Hahn promised!

I literally believed Hahn would pay off when he was talking like that. In my mind's eye I  heard the Black Eyed Peas New Day.

But to BOUNCE back, one needs to have bounced once first.

I think people are being too disappointed about the Sox moves, or lack therof. They have told us a long time ago to stop believin'

But seriously, they have told us without telling us to stop being disappointed. '24 is a writeoff, there is no quick turnaround in the plan despite the original  propaganda. Accept it. Enjoy it and relax.

If you did a little of that in November, fine, you’re probably not going to scare away the fish. If you’re doing that in December, they’ll just understand that you’re not serious and go figure out other options.

That wouldn't explain how the White Sox got Lucas Giolito, Dane Dunning, and Reynaldo Lopez for Adam Eaton. I'm sure they asked for more.
