Harrison does play just about everywhere on the diamond. He's kind of like a right handed Leury. Had they not re-signed Leury, Harrison would have made more sense to be a utility guy.
This has to mean that a serious RF will not be added. They didn’t pay Leury to sit around much. Nor Harrison. Face it, they are waiting for the Colas/Cespedes era

Happy for Carlos he deserves generational wealth. I am also happy the White sox didn't just give this man 44 million and an opt out.
we all deserve generational wealth. Question is, does Carlos Rodon represent a baseball reason for that contract? Questionable. I would say he earned his position. Market is the key. Pitching is scarce.

Got his hands higher than Eloy, but coils that leg back high too

I bet he works out.
It has been said and seen that he can get pudgy. He looks in top condition though atm if these pictures aren’t an illusion.

Hard to tell from one picture from the back, but Colas looks fit.

I can’t get on board with a plan that values Castellanos over Vaughn. But if Vaughn gets you a real prospect, ehh ok

Until the exact reason for his drop in performance/measurables, I don't see how the Sox could do more than 1 year at a discount. If Rodon wants the Sox to roll the dice without solving the mystery, he has to compromise, a lot. Personally, I'm moving on from damaged goods, and looking to fill a rotation spot with something more dependable. A bad plan is to reserve a rotaion spot for a question mark if you have other options.

Kelley looks like a guy that could be comfortable pitching at that weight class. He's got a fairly smooth, repeatable delivery. Weight doesn't necessarily affect those pitchers as much as it would a high-exertion, high-variability delivery like a Carson Fulmer. He's a pitcher so its not like having a skill position player come to camp overweight. Some pitchers work well rounder than others. Plus the kid is 20 years old. No need to gawk or project more than we need to.
History is not littered with guys like that. In Kelly’s case, adding fat will have to become the sole reason he is good, judging by his career to this point.

No? You don’t do bad things just because somebody asks you to. This is difficult?

I've always liked Comforto but primarily for his bat. I'm guessing he could be expected to play better RF then a Sheets/Vaughn/Engel combo but how much so is anyone's guess. I'm less convinced that he would be a significant improvement offensively over the combo platter, as I have high expectations for them in '22. I am however entirely convinced that Marte would be a major improvement over Leury or any other potentially available 2B options. in a vacuum and all things being equal, I'd prefer Marte over Comforto.
It looks like the Sox are not very ambitious at second base and right field. Years from now they still might be plugging in meh guys.

I have nothing against Conforto if we are going to spend money on a right fielder. However...Vaughn, Sheets, Grandal, Eloy, Abreu, and Collins can't all be the DH. I've stated earlier that I prefer using Vaughn and Sheets in a platoon with late-inning assistance from Engel. Use the money on other areas of need being pitching, 2nd base, and perhaps a backup catcher if a good defensive catcher can be found.
Ugh. Hahn seriously has to finally clear all this up. I feel like the DH/1B/RF gang is like a huge kidney stone the Sox have to pass.

i wonder what the story with his injury was. Did he not want TJ?
I can’t remember what was wrong with the arm, the dreaded forearm injury. Maybe somehow hung on without actually tearing the ligament. But that was clearly the thing that sunk his career. I don’t quite recall either why he dropped in the draft, was it a bad senior year iirc? I do believe he was a high effort pitcher that was projected as an injury risk. Dare to say, I have worried about Crochet in a similar sense this past year. Although he has caught himself without losing much in terms of bottom line.

Last week, White Sox infielder Jake Burger put out a video of his workouts at second base. This week he joins us to explain that while a positional shift is possible, he also likes to stir the pot. We talk with the troll-loving former first-round draft pick about his new attitude towards social media, why Gavin Sheets is his best friend on the team, and how even a pro athlete can drop a couple of pop-ups in the same game. One thing is certain by the end of this interview: Jake Burger loves a good laugh!

Jake Burger, the troll. Part of me wants to believe he read the horror-filled responses on Soxtalk, and realized he went too far. But a true troll would consider that a job well done.

I would think everyone in the MiLB organization that could play 2nd is considering it and if they can't play second how about right field? Catcher? . . .
The hell is up with this team putting DHs and first baseman all over the field?

In that little clip, he seems to move quite well. I think he surprised us all last year when we got a look-see of him at third.
Moved quite well for a large man who is not a second baseman

Leury and Harris are gonna play a lot, they are getting paid. Adding a right fielder at this point just means Jerry Reinsdorf is wasting his money these days. Doubtful.
