I think there needs to be two or three Jerry sell the team games each week to get his attention. :ninja:

I want him to sell the team just to shake things up. I know it will continue to be the same old franchise, with the same results. Not at least it will be someone new to complain about.

Can the White Sox go to Arlington Heights?

He has a 1.26 FIP difference between the Dodgers (3.94) as here (5.20).

He's pitched against bad offenses, has a much better defense behind him and likely gives a s%*# whereas he didn't here unless someone made him bend down and pick up a bunt.

I think he’s had poor performances against a lot of different quality offenses in Chicago, which didn’t go so well, but that requires breakdown analysis of which would be way more painstaking than I am able to tolerate. If one is to say he’s not better, and better utilized in LA, or is the same, that’s certainly interesting as well. But that isn’t my take.  Something is different over there. If it’s just him, that would be disappointing.

We are playing the A's on Thursday night and I saw some chatter on Twitter that fans are going to wear all black (like the blackout game) and supposedly organize some "Sell the team Jerry" chants. It doesn't seem to have a lot of momentum.

Would it draw more attention to the  plight of the Sox fan? Maybe a little.

Will it change anything? Probably not.

But I would support it out of frustration / anger.

More impactful for ticket buyers to do it from the parking lot instead of the seats.

As bad as Hahn is, collecting failed high draft picks isn't a bad strategy. There was a reason they were picked high. The problem is the White Sox don't seem to be able to bring out the best in most players.

Well if this is an indicator that they are gonna continue to go with an approach  of throwing a bunch of bodies and question marks at right field, it’s a bad strategy. I’m hoping they have a more serious plan in mind.

first I think it's important to note that for the past month you've heard fairly directly from both Pedro and me and others, that we realize we have, we had a bit of a culture problem in this clubhouse. That we didn't have a group that was pulling in the same direction, that was necessarily supporting each other or going about their business the way we wanted this team to go about it.

It was something we were upfront about for the last several weeks, something we feel we've been in the process of addressing, both at the trade deadline as well as since. and it's something we expect we will continue to improve over the coming weeks. As I mentioned at the deadline, it was something that was a priority.

Absolutely awful job by this organization to get things to this state

I have a feeling that as much as the roster gets beat up, rightfully so, the organization can’t put them in the right situation to succeed. Because the players know the organization is a clueless joke. Im sure they have some level of pride. But they must know their abilities will be wasted here anyway in terms of applying them on the field for a winner.

From MLB.com today reviewing the deal just FYI:

Of course, that the White Sox were willing to trade a feel-good success story who can’t be a free agent until after 2028 tells you a little something, and there’s no shortage of red flags here; he’s a below-average fielder; his .279 on-base percentage is well below-average; he’s hit .173/.253/.470 over the last two months. Throw in a 32% strikeout rate and he’s the Anti-Marlin in lot of ways, which isn’t a bad thing given their total lack of power, but it’s also possible that the White Sox viewed this as found money, turning a pre-season question mark into a well-regarded 24-year-old Double-A starter who could be in Chicago as soon as next year.

I guess I understand the trade if they did their homework on it. But the failure to choose a lane overall is the remaining problem. Contending in ‘24 ffs. Really? Straddling the fence means your balls get splinters.
