  1. Take Malone out, insert Stewart.  I'd give them Liefer, but I think they'd have to get Hummell or someone else with his value.

Maybe even Malone, Stewart, Hummell, Sanders and Paul for Vazquez, Colon, and Peter Bergeron.  I'd throw in Ginter as well.

IMO there's no way the Expos deal there 1 and 2 starters if they dont get at least 1 top prospects (Malone or Rauch would do).

Stewart and West would also have to be involved

  2. How bout this deal.

The Sox offer Corwin Malone, Brian West, Dave Sanders, Tim Hummell, Matt Ginter, and Josh Paul to the Expos for Vazquez/Colon.

Do you guys think the Expos would consider that?  I'd do it in a heartbeat, but would it be enough?

If we gave them Jon Rauch, then i think they'd do it.

  3. WINTER WATCH

The White Sox are excited about INF D'Angelo Jimenez for a reason this year. Jimenez ended his winter season in the Dominican two weeks ago hitting .312 with 12 doubles, five homers and 31 RBI. He also had a .522 slugging percentage and played solid defense at both second base and shortstop. The Sox are looking at Jimenez as their leadoff hitter this season.

The other impressive showing in the Dominican for the Sox was lefty reliever Arnie Munoz, who went 4-0 with a 1.55 ERA and recorded four saves for Aguilas. Munoz, who has a chance to make a bullpen spot, led the league in wins, ERA and strikeouts (74) in 20 appearances.

Things haven't gone quite as well for the Sox in Puerto Rico. Jeff Liefer, who was hoping to increase his trade value this offseason, hit just .188 with two home runs in 19 games with Caguas. He had 26 strikeouts and six walks. Jose Valentin hit .200 but did rank among the league leaders in homers (eight), and RBIs (20).

Plus there's some more crap form the people over at CBS.Sportsline

  4. Minaya has been given a budget, if he doesn't follow it, he'll send the Expos into millions of dollars of debt. He has no choice but to cut payroll. This has been made pretty clear, the owner committee operating the Expos come out and said cut 10 mil, Minaya waited to the last second and now he's gonna get screwed.

  5. No, there still there.

are they? Not challenging your statement, and hope it is true, I know that it was an issue and I never did really hear what was decided on that in the new contract.

They weren't able to agree on draft pick compensation, so the same system will apply for this season.

  6. I'm gonna guess no on Finley...here's a quote from Ken Rosenthal's Inside Dish...

One team with interest in Finley says it is not willing to part with a No. 1 draft pick to sign him. . . .

If I had to take a wild guess on who that team was, I'd say it was the White Sox.

    PS...DON'T SAY AFTER....YOU'LL JINX IT :D

We have the 15th pick in the first round, so if we did sign Finley it would be our 2nd round pick. So it can't be the Sox's.

  7. They why even get one, even with Colon they still dont have much chance at a WS. If your willing to spend on Colon, then take a gamble and you might make a s*** load of money off the WS.

To win big you need to take more chances, JR and KW need more balls.
