Haigwood is a bulldog on the mound. Although he has been dominating all season and reports of him at 90-92 mph, he showed mostly mid-80's arm strength that topped out at 88 mph. He did show why he has a 40-0 career HS record with a plus curveball and pitchability. His curve showed a tight spin that had 73 mph velocity and a good hard bite to it. His body is strong, athletic and his long arms release the ball out front in a good spot. Here's a pic:

........jr is a classic example of driving down salaries and they should start with his cheap ass............
*cough*Albert Belle*cough*, my point being you never really know what he's up to...
-
If they were serious about winning they would atleast bring the payroll to about 60 mil, giving us about another 17-19 mil to throw around. Look at the Angels they put another 15 mil into there payroll and won a WS, the Sox's could be that team if JR wasn't a cheap bastard.
-
QUOTE from the article:
It's unclear where club Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf wants the payroll. But he has room to cherry-pick the long list of free agents for another $7 million to $8 million worth of talent and still open the season at $50 million, down from $57 million at the start of 2002.All he says is JR has money to spend, not that he will spend it .
-
No one in there right mind would buy the Dodgers, which means they'll need to find a really stupid person, wheres JR when you need him.
-
No, it real does say pie
-
If the Red Sox's get either Colon or Vazquez the Yankees would do anything to improve there staff, they might go out and sign another starter, so dont hold out on getting a Yankee pitcher.
-
Yeah, but he still needs to get better at man to man D, all he's doing right now is fouling.
-
Also people fotget he was coming back form a injury last season, and his velocity was way down.
-
If we just give up Carlos then i'd do the deal, but i still think the 'Spos would want more and if we have a choice between Colon or Vazquez, i'd rather have Vazquez.
-
The more i think about it the less i like the idea of trading for Colon. We will give up something good for him (ie. Joe Crede or Carlos Lee + cash) and we'll only have him for one season. I rather see KW get 2 veteran starters and keep who ever he would trade, then have Colon for one season.
-
I think they'll end up getting Person or Valdes.
Yeah, i think its gonna be one of those two. It just depends which one is cheaper. If KW was smart he'd get two veteran starters. That would give us 5 guys who should pitch at least 190 innings and with our (should be good) bullpen we would win a lot of games.
-
Its a great article, we wont get anyone better then Suppan, but he makes a good point that we should have at least 3 guys who will eat up innings giving us a half-way decnet rotation.
-
Actually last year, the Sox's were doing all the KC/DET ass kicking:D
-
KC wont be all that bad, DET and the Tribe will be way worse.
-
5 starters in double digit wins, that's kinda hard to do.
-
CLee will have a huge season, then everyone will be b****ing after he signs with the Red Sox's or some other rich team.

Eddie Jones
in SLaM
Eddie Jones makes like 10.5 mil.
For a deal to happen the Bulls would need to give up E-Rob(5.5 mil), Fizer(2 mil), and JC(2 mil).
No way in hell is he worth those three players.
-
Lieber wont be able to pitch until after the All-Star break at the earliest.
-
No, they would send us cash along with the player.
-
Weaver would look nice on our staff. It wont happen though:(

I'd laugh my ass off if KW does actually make a deal for Colon. I'm sure all you hatter you still find a way to rip him.
