I truly do you respect you always being positive because you do it in a way where you don’t bury your head in the sand, but you’re at least approaching it from a logical perspective.

With that said, I just can’t stomach the “Hey just make the playoffs and anything will happen.” That’s not good enough, and I don’t even think it’s totally true. Why? Because we know this team will get trounced by Houston, the Yankees and the Rays, let alone the Dodgers. They just aren’t close to that level. So if they make the playoffs…what does that really get us? I’m not saying by any means I DON’T want them to make the playoffs, of course I do. But we have seen more than enough of this team since last July. We know who they are. A .500 team. Nothing more. That doesn’t play in October.

Yeah, not thrilled with playing the Cinderella role in October where you hope to hang your hat on a surprise upset when it’s objectively clear to everyone that you aren’t at the same level. I envision whomever they meet just laughing their way through it in the dugout like it is some sort of inside joke they are playing it.

Not a surprise. Team was kind of hot before the break but you just knew the multi days off would take away that momentum. This as we all know is a severely flawed team. On to the next game.

Well before the break the they all had a collective snit and responded with inspired play after the rumors of discord in the clubhouse, TLR being days from departure, etc.

We needed to let that work it’s way through to see what the true reality of this team is and whether the last couple of weeks were a dead cat bounce

Quite amazing that there is literally a stat that shows when Leury starts, this team is one of the worst in the league.  Yet Tony keeps putting him in every day hoping for that heater

No sense eating ourselves up about it anymore. His bar is so low that when he takes an 0-fer it doesn't move the needle but those few days he drops in a couple hits it just further solidifies himself as a preferred fixture in the lineup.

Pollock is a better player than Garcia.  Its not a debate.  Pollock is playing like crap but he can get back to his norm and is still better than Garcia at this point.

Garcia has NEVER been good.....EVER.  Pure insanity how he is handled compared to rest of the roster.

The stupidity of this organization is surreal.

Completely agree. When I predict generous playing time for him, it sure isn’t because I am on board.

How do you sit a healthy Pollock and Eloy?

Tony is so friggin desperate to get Leury “Everyday” Garcia into the lineup.

I am assuming he will be the 2023 regular second baseman. At least there won’t be the angst of “why did TLR put him in so-and-so’s spot today “. 2B will BE his spot.

Things look bleak for the White Sox at the moment but just when it seems like they are down for the count, they get back up and land a big blow. Will that be today, maybe, maybe not. Most of us here will still be cheering for a win. It's going to take a lot of wins to get back in the race but stranger things have happened so I'm not throwing in the towel just yet. Come on Chicago, climb out of this quicksand pit and get things rolling in the right direction.

“…just when it seems like they are down for the count, they get back up and land a big blow.“

This is why it will be a 78 win “ho hum” year and not a 65 win “heads will roll” year.

At what point do we all start to root for this team to crash and burn in the most horrendous of fashions so there will be no choice but to fire TLR, every coach, every support staff person, every front office person, and every grounds person.

They won’t even give us that consolation. 89 wins at curtain close. Total meh as they dink around all summer.

I don’t really care to look it up rn but when it was brought up here that he said it a couple weeks back, I found the quote and it was a little more tame than the Soxtalk translation. in any event, it’s clearly still affecting him atm.

This is an honest question. Every year something happens that causes him to miss time or lose effectiveness. Will that ever change?
