  1. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Nov 17, 2009 -> 04:32 PM)
    Can't believe that they are basically siding with Cowley and saying the report is false, dont they understand that its preliminary talks and that the site actually said that they just talked, nothing was in place yet?

    They did absolutely no research on their part to even see if the source was legit, they just didnt recognize the Sox Net name so dismissed it as a Tribune ploy.

    Disgusting.

    Then maybe somebody that writes for Sox Net should call B&B and educate them.

    It'd be good.

    Quentin has to prove he can stay on the field for 162. Yes, I know he had a freak injury with the wrist, but these knee and heel problems can nag for years.

    Next thing you know, he'll get hit in the hand with a pitch and be out for 3 months. I'm just afraid it's always going to be one thing or the other with him.

  3. Adrian would be a perfect fit. Lefty power bat. Gold Glove defense. Affordable contract.

    The Sox would be stupid not to try to get him.

    Really, I would trade Floyd or Hudson, and any two or three eligible prospects in the system. Take your pick.

    Sox prospect wins the Cross City AFL League Prospect Classic.

    Also, D2 needs a new number since Quentin's got 20.

    I say he should get 52, since its 50 + 2

    If Teahen takes 24, I could see Viciedo going to 52. I believe he wore that in the minors and it was Contreras's number.

  5. QUOTE (CSF @ Nov 7, 2009 -> 02:49 PM)
    Ryne Sandberg began his career at 3B with Philly. When he was traded to the Cubs, they moved him to 2B. Cal Ripken Jr came up with the O's as a 3B & they moved him to SS. Biggio was a catcher, & the Stros moved him to 2B.

    Sandberg started 131 games at 3B in 1982, for the Cubs.

    Not really related to this discussion, but I'm calling it right now: the 2010 All Star Ballot will list Beckham as a 3rd Basemen

    Thereby screwing him out of a starter position.

    Yeah, the team turns that in to the league in March. I think he's safe being listed as a 2B...as long as he's not moved before then.

  7. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 10:22 AM)
    This move makes Beckham available if they deem that CJ and Nix can play second. Just saying.

    Teahan is fast enough as he is not a clogger. I think the Sox realized this season that the speed thing will not work at the cell. They need guys that can run the bases and have some power.

    This also adds a guy that can play multiple positions like Kotsay.

    This team needs subtle moves this offseason nothing major and I think they will be one of hte best teams in baseball.

    Wait...what?

    Do people still not get that Beckham is the face of the franchise the next 10-15 years?
