It's always the same story with Madrigal. Prorate his stats over ~140 games and he ends up looking quite valuable. But it doesn't seem like his body can hold up to being an every day player.

2/3s of the roster is dedicated to players who contribute nothing. Robert has more WAR than every other position player on the team combined. They're the Charlotte Knights without him. Fixating on who pitches when or any decision on the margins is a total waste of time when the talent level is this abysmal.

It's possible nothing can be done at this point, but I'm convinced Burger's issues recognizing spin (and his poor plate discipline generally) are largely due to years of lost development time. He was a low strikeout rate guy in college & in the minors prior to all of his injuries.

I think about this at some point during every game. Watching him glide around in CF is incredible. I don't think his defense is appreciated nearly enough. He is a generationally good defensive player.
