It is a bad baseball team that is being out played by other bad baseball teams.   There seems to be zero direction for this team and organization.

The talent is there, it is very flawed but it is there and compared to other organizations there is more of it.  I did not think the Dodgers or Mariners were better then the Sox for those three game series.  The manager is now showing as he is being pushed by the media and the situation is not improving that he is not qualified for the job.  Although I am not certain if that matters.

I know they are not firing him and sadly I am not certain anything changes this offseason.  I view the White Sox as circling the drain until Jerry dies.  Until he is dead and they sell I think they head toward being a $100M salary that is what it is and nobody will give a s%*# about them except for a handful of fans and there is nothing we can do about it.

Grifol is clueless and is getting nothing out of this team.  This is Hahn's guy and both should be escorted out of town

The talent is not there, as 3 Yeats of data shows. We are the 5th worst team at best, comparing us to the Dodgers is laughable.

  2. Remember when AV was a star bat? I don't either, but people here sure as hell made him out to be one. For all of our rebuild pain, we were rewarded with Madrigal-Kimbrel-Pollock and Vaughn.

    Let that sink in.

  3. We have 3 years of data now. These dudes ain't it. A bunch if talent but can't stay healthy or perform when healthy. This team has zero shot at a WS. You can't even squint your eyes and see it. Fire Hahn.

To be fair they did do that with Moncada and look what that got them!

I mean young established talent. Yoan was a prospect that hadn't developed when we brought him in. We signed him early trying to get a steal of a deal, but he hasn't reached his offensive potential or come close yet.

  5. Our main problem is we won't sign young talent to large deals. Those guys can carry an average team all the way. We want to keep signing aging vets and hoping they can turn back the clock. That plan will continue to fail. And we will continue to be left behind by the big boys.

  6. Part of being a good hitter is pitch recognition. Our guys flail because they don't pick up the pitch in time. Hanging sliders get popped up because they guess fastball and react late. Fastballs get hit into the dirt because they don't pick up the speed in time and swing late.

They didn't want to spend money on Harper and Machado because they prioritized re-signing their young championshit core.  Now they can't find anyone who would want them.

This was stupid if true. You ALWAYS sign the MVP and HOF caliber middle of the order lefty bat in his prime. You figure out the rest 8 years down the road and if one of your core players bust, his money funds Harper's last few years. If everyone turned out to be worthy of the money, then you enjoy your multiple championships and use the money from said championships and fame to pay Harper, or trade someone to retool  the farm.

I wanted Harper for several reasons (RF, power LH bat), but his “star power” was probably equal to anything he offered on the field. Simply making a non relevant team relevant nationally.

I didn't want to mention that because it hurts. I remember fans talked about adding relevancy to national attention to the team with Harper especially. Harper basically would have offset a lot of his contract for Jerry.

I think he's an average GM in a really bad organization that experiences the worst luck imaginable.

He built a roster that everyone (fans, Vegas, baseball insiders) thought would contend for several years and watched it implode from injuries and the worst managing imaginable.

He's the figurehead and needs to go. But without a wholesale clearing the systemic problems will always be there.

    A few problems.

The fans wanted Machado or Harper. An MVP caliber player that can carry an offense and take pressure of off hitters.

The fans saw this team had s%*# defense and DH's playing in the outfield.

We watched this team do next to nothing to address the lack of power.

Yeah there was hope before, but they truly failed building and supplementing this roster as necessary.

    Hahn used injury excuse today

Didn't expect him to speak so I missed it. Well, the problem is the healthy guys suck ass. Cease isn't hurt is he? Has Lynn been hurt? I also see some healthy guys in our lineup sucking ass too. Robert, Vaughn, Tim, Grandal, and whoever is playing right field that day.

For an excuse that ended I’ve heard it a lot this week. Today even.

The window is painted shut. They are hanging on for dear life and any excuse will be used by our FO. Our fans use excuses because we don't want to believe this thing is a failure. Because where do we go from here as fans? Could we ever trust this organization again?
