How does Rick Hahn say on one hand no one is harder on him than himself, and on the other b**** about negative fans who think everything he does, is wrong?

Because he is full of it. No way he didn't expect this team to be mediocre at best when everyone else knew it and the analytics showed it. His strategy is to make fans think he is one of them to buy more time to find another scapegoat. I wouldn't be surprised if Katz and to a lessor degree Grifol were fired. This season is so bad you have to consider firing Grifol.

“We probably weren’t quite as smart as we were viewed to be then,” Hahn said, “and perhaps not quite as stupid as we may be viewed to be now.”  Well, he's half right!

It's the Ole we are harder on ourselves than anyone trick to avoid real accountability. He is still hanging on to the first half of 2021 and winning a crap division as his saving grace. "OH but remember you guys liked the rebuild in 2018, so you can't be mad now."

The TLR gaslighting this weekend into Monday is amazing.

    1. Rick Hahn should have been let go in 2015 after not being able to handle the La Roche situation, and certainly after 2016 after one of the worst four years in White Sox history.

2 TLR was a bad hire and never should been considered for the job.

    3. Jerry was the reason TLR was hired and Hahn remains.

    #Facts

I think the issue is that people made it seem like TLR was the only problem with this team. And that his departure would rid this organization of its woes. This organization has failed from top to bottom and Hahn should be fired at the conclusion of this season. Jerry won't sell the team so we are screwed regardless.

Nothing has changed from last year.  If anything, seems they hit more warning track fly balls last season.  This year’s team just has awful talent.

Stop it. Cahn said that fans are mean for thinking this team is as bad as 2022 and 2nd half 2021.

The narrative last year was extremely loud on how awful Tony was. Every loss was Tony's fault and Tony's fault alone. Entire threads were dedicated to archiving every questionable decision/move he made. Some posters were making WAR calculations for managers out of back of napkin math and credited Tony for at least 8 or 9 losses last year. Hell, one guy ( Balta something or other) wrote an entire thesis in a response to me that Tony was solely responsible for the 2021 ALDS beat down from Houston.  A lot of those posters seem awol this year. No more easy punching bag for them I suppose.

The Tony era is over. The stench on this team belongs to everyone in the organization.

TLR was bad but this team had zero power last year and a s%*# bullpen. They decided to stand pat at the deadline and thought things would just take off. They refuse to believe these players aren't as good as they thought. Rick Hahn is also the biggest issue with the roster, then Jerry.

Baez had a few great seasons offensively, we shall see what Robert can do. It's not looking good though for him, Eloy, and Yoan to be offensive stars.

If Hahn was just as pissed as us, he would realize it's a job he cannot do, whether that be  a lack of baseball instinct or any kind of restriction he is operating under. He would then resign. That comment, and I have heard him say it more than once, is just as empty as all the other comments he makes in public. But Rick and the White Sox don't care. They're right, everyone else is wrong. Actually winning games be danned.

I just read more Hahn speak prior to the season. My favorite quotes were:

"Jose Ruiz looked great for Venezuela and we are excited."

"Lynn dominated for team USA, that is a great sign."

"We want to prove we are the team from 2020 and 2021, and not 2022." (lol Rick these seasons weren't THAT good)

"We have something to prove and hold ourselves accountable."

I think I made it very clear. I think Moncada is a bust and for sure extremely overpaid for his lack of production and constant injuries. As I said, I think it's from a lack of training and caring on his part. He was the #1 prospect in baseball and brought here in the first major Sox rebuild trade and was suppose to be a all-star second baseman. He got heavy and slower and because he wasn't good at 2nd, he was moved to third, instead of making him work harder at being good at 2nd.

I am not in the "Pro Moncada" camp in this forum who always gets offended when Moncada is criticized for his failures and constantly feel they have to defend him with this hope and fantasy that he will be a star eventually.

I was concerned about Moncada when that car dealer story came out. That was definitely not a good sign, I told myself that I would keep that story in the back of my mind and revisit in 2024.

  9. I love how arguments get switched to defend Hahn. When we called Jerry cheap, the "high payroll" was used to defend him and the team. Now that Hahn's rear is to the fire and fans are holding him accountable for poor resource allocation of that "high payroll", it has turned into financial constraints limiting large contracts. I don't feel sorry for Hahn and his arrogant and condescending ass. He had plenty of money to work with and decided to spend it all on a crap bullpen, DK, Pollock, etc. Let's not forget we tanked to get the 4th overall pick which he drafted a guy with no power with. And then traded the player for Kimbrel and Pollock. This man literally threw a tank season out of the window. The clown also let Rodon walk for nothing when it was clear he wasn't going to sign the QO.

  10. I still remember all of the arguments I got into with many of you about this s%*# sandwich of a team. My favorite was how many folks thought the Cubs rebuild was failure because of how it ended. We never came close to any of the Cubs' success AND they rebuilt and passed us by within 2 years. This organization is a joke.

If we can find takers, I'd dump Diekman in a heartbeat.

"Hey - looking for a bullpen arm who can make any game an 8-inning game? Yeah - bring this guy, and BOOM. Game over"

Dykeman is a great tank commander.
