That was a fastball. His velo on everything is down today. He's not ready.

He literally hit 95 his first start. You can argue he's hurt now in this game, but he was fine beforehand.

I wonder if Coop was in his ear again about dialing it back.

this is just batting practice, fuck, the Sox are straight fucked we have no starting pitching.

Going to have to follow the trend of the 2000 team, just bludgeon teams to death.   The entire starting rotation pretty much collapsed the last two months that year.

Didn't Rodon basically have the capsule surgery?  That's a death sentence.

No. He had severe shoulder bursitis and TJS.

He was throwing 96 two weeks ago.

They actually didn't need to go into his shoulder as bursitis can be treated with medicine, however they didn't know what it was until they went in there.

Why is Rodon pitching from the stretch with no one on?

That's his new delivery. Keuchel, Kopech (before the covid), etc. are doing it too. Less wasted movement/moving parts I believe was said.

HIs shoulder isn't the same as it was that's clear.

All I can think of is that his arm isn't bouncing back after a few starts, or it's dead arm.

I know he was throwing 95-96 in his last two starts. It's weird.

Maybe Rodon is throwing slower so he can have better control. If he was hurt they probably would’ve noticed by now.

Probably not a great idea to throw 85.6 MPH fastballs, regardless of location so I doubt it.

He shouldnt be throwing an 88MPH fastball. That's batting practice.
