Willing to discuss with you offline if you'd like. Really don't want to derail the thread with statistics about Christians, Republicans, democrats, and vaccines.

There's no room for discussion. If you don't side unquestionably with big pharma here, you're a giant pile of dog shit.

Thank you for putting this in terms I can finally understand. Big pharma always has my best interests at heart and I'm sorry for questioning this.

To be clear, we don't think that about EVERYONE.

We for sure think it about you, just not everyone. That's an unfair shot, and I won't stand for it.

I just can't comprehend turning down $440 million. It just doesn't compute.

Wants to play for a winning team that likely advances to the playoffs rather than wait out a rebuild for the next 3-5 years?

Or he watched with a vested interest the Harper and Rendon FA sweepstakes?

Sounds crazy, but unless he literally loses a limb anytime soon that money range isn't going anywhere for future offers I would imagine.

"They’re better, in other words, than they have been in a long time. And this is just the beginning. After that dismal 2018 campaign, the Orioles brought in Mike Elias, one of the architects of the Houston Astros’ carefully constructed turnaround from laughingstock to champions as their new general manager. And he brought with him NASA engineer-turned-baseball analytics innovator Sig Mejdal. Say what you will about the 2017 team that took home a now-tainted trophy, but Houston’s ongoing dominance in the AL West is built on more than just sign-stealing. That kind of sustained success is every baseball team’s ultimate goal. And the Orioles have reason to believe they’re right on the precipice."

There are plenty of hitters in the Sox org who would benefit from taking a similar approach to reworking their swing that Carpenter did over the off-season. Him having this resurgence is a pretty remarkable player dev story.

The whole idea of being a push hitter just simply does not work for certain hitters. Jose Ramirez went from MVP candidate to near replacement level because he stopped trying to pull the ball in the 2nd half of 2018 and the first half of 2019. Vaughn, Eloy, and Robert are all seemingly suffering from similar problems. They look amazing when they pull the ball but more often than not end up sacrificing power for contact when they look to hit the ball the other way. Mostly fastballs too. On the other hand, Tim Anderson is at his best when he does push the ball the other way. As he ends up rolling over more often than not when he pulls the ball.

https://www.golfdigest.com/story/colin-cowherd-san-diego-padres-juan-soto-theory

Silicon Valley and budget surpluses during Covid lead directly to Soto?

Colin Cowherd must have read conspiracy theories about Bulls/Sox spending conmingled by JR lol.

How about a far simpler one?  Great weather, no competition for sponsors since they lost both the Clippers and Chargers.  Only game in town, like Packers or Bills.
