Foster already warming up in the Sox pen. What's been the point of Kopech starting the last few weeks when they know he has nothing??

Trying to build stamina after hitting his previous high in innings?

So the Sox should write Allen Thomas a blank check to return as a strength & conditioning coach, then? The Sox had like a 20 year run where they were always amongst the best teams in terms of IL days lost, fewest soft tissue injuries, etc

Not saying that. Just saying that wasn't part if Herm's job description.

Start of the big night for Leury right here

Leury should not be a starter in any more games.  He is a utility player to come off the bench as needed.  If he does start he needs to hit 9th behind Big Energy.  Never hit 7th, when there is a better chance of having RISP.  TLR just keeps doubling down on Leury.

Yep in a big game like tonight, he should have never been starting

Kopech just doesn't look good. I don't know if it's physical or mechanical but he hasn't been the same since the knee issue.

This whole team minus Pito are a total mess physically. You almost expect an injury every game.

The thing with his knee though is its not like you could have done anything to prevent that issue.

Way to pitch out of it at least

It seems pretty clear the Sox plan for Kopech is to let him pitch unless an actual injury prevents him from doing so. Do you think he'll be able to handle ~150 regular season innings plus potential playoff starts without getting a break at some point?

Kopech's peripherals are straight up concerning. Tyler Wells, who also was a reliever last year and transitioned into a starter this year, is having a much better time with the change than Kopech. And Kopech was a much better prospect than Wells.
