Brooks Baldwin
UNC-Wilmington INF
Notes:
HT: 6-2 | Wt: 175 | B-T: B-R
Commit/Drafted: Giants '21 (15)
Age At Draft: 21.9
The Colonial Athletic Association player of the year hit .347/.406/.621 this year, marking the second straight year that he’s posted a .900-plus OPS. The switch-hitter should be able to remain a plus hitter in pro ball, with plenty of bat speed and line-drive oriented swings that produce extra-base hits in the gaps more than home runs. An above-average runner, Baldwin has played second base, shortstop, third base and all three outfield spots. He is best in the outfield, where he has an above-average arm and average range, but he may profile best at second base. Baldwin turned down the Giants in the 15th round last year. He was even better this year, and a strong performance in the Cape Cod League should further help his draft stock.

Versatile and should remain a plus hitter in pro ball.  That sounds nice,

Mason Adams

Jacksonville RHP

Notes:

HT: 6-0 | Wt: 200 | B-T: R-R
Commit/Drafted: Never Drafted
Age At Draft: 22.4
A semi-productive starter at Jacksonville, Adams’ strikeout-to-walk ratio (108-to-31) and fielding independent pitching numbers were better than his 4.80 ERA. Adams is a strike-throwing righthander with feel for pitching and average secondaries (low-80s slider, mid-80s changeup) that help make up for a fringe-average 91-93 mph fastball. He’s a senior sign candidate as a money saver.

sooo booooooring of a day 3 so far

Not trying to be offensive, but do you even know 2% of the day 3 remaining draft class?

I think most of us have zero clue who any of these guys are outside of those drafted in the first 2-3 rounds based on watching the College World Series and reading scouting publications.

Here's a question: what's the lowest round draft pick from 2019 or earlier that's still in the Sox system?

Not sure, but #34 is in the system.  He hasn't done much and it may be just because he got a big bonus.
#29 is in the system as well.
