I often wonder how other MLB players feel about the White Sox as an organization? I bet they think that this isn’t a serious organization. Zach Wheeler left money on the table to sign elsewhere, Keuchel s%*# all over the team on his way out. AJ Pollock gave money back to not have to to play here anymore. Potential free agents have to see that this owner isn’t serious about winning and I bet most MLBers think this team is a joke and would never sign here unless it’s their last resort.

Players having negative comments about this organization goes back farther in time, Carlton Fisk, Robin Ventura and Jack McDowell immediately come to mind.

It wouldn’t shock me if players think this way.  It’s just more evidence that JR and everyone else needs to go.

The QO or the deal he signed with SF was a no brainer.  It was fucking stupid to let him walk out the door for nothing.

I just went back and reread that thread.  Holy s%*# but I used to be an optimist before last off-season broke me.  One of the worst five month stretches in GM history IMO.  Just so many mind-boggling moves and even worse when you view the off-season in totality.  $40M+ spent on a bunch of role players instead adding a single impact talent.  Rick Hahn is epically bad at this GM’ing thing.

Given the contracts and the talent on the team at the 2021 deadline, it’s hard to imagine how someone could have messed up things to the point they’re at now.

Kimbrel trade forward he’s been an absolute train wreck.  Not that he wasn’t before, but he removed all doubt last winter.

I would have made the same decision on Rodon. I didn't trust him to stay healthy either, so I can't criticize Hahn for that one.

Picking up Kimbrel's option was inexcusable. 

Also Hahn being a shitty GM and Jerry being a shitty owner are not mutually exclusive thoughts. They both suck.

What is becoming increasingly clear is that Hahn and the FO intend to do nothing. They are hoping that a combination of a new manager and a bounceback to 2021 levels by half the team will keep them in contention to the All Star Break, when again they will again promise something and do nothing (except possibly add another reliever). The rest of the season will be a repeat of last season where they are never in real contention but never out of contention, then we will all be back here next off season talking about trades and FA signings that won't happen.

Jerry is a terrible owner but Hahn sucks on his own accord. He doesn't understand lineup balance, roster construction, how to draft, and couldn't convince a sex addict to watch free porn.

I'm glad you said it. I would've got TLR emojis . Mostly it was just people defending the Sox brass because they had his medicals. Now they know better.

Plus it was a safe play. If you count the number of times he was injured vs him pitching a full season the odds were in your favor. There were plenty of reasons to offer him the QO and plenty more to make an effort to resign him but the injuries and being labeled not a hard worker unless he was in danger of losing an MLB paycheck took precedent.

A lot of people really didn't care about lineup balance . They think that as long as a player is good it doesn't matter if he if RH or LH .

The Sox are the worst LH hitting team in the history of baseball. That's part of the reason why they have not won many World Series. The main reason though is having owners who either had no money so said they had no money.
