The Sox have had many bad seasons over the years, but only four teams 12 + games under .500 entering June.

  • 2023 23-35
  • 2018 16-37 (62-100)
  • 1989 18-33 (69-92)
  • 1948 9-26 (51-101-2)

Please fire Rick Hahn to kick off June, and give White Sox fans hope for the future.

So the 1989 team gives one hope, lol....minus Ventura, McDowell, Frank Thomas, Wilson Alvarez and Alex Fernandez.

I feel like a lot of people on this board are still waiting for them to flip a switch.

face it, it's over

the sooner you realize it, the less upset you'll be everytime they lose and you won't be asking "How could this happen?"

They just had Season Ticketholder Appreciation Week. They gave them a free bag a popcorn and a discounted ticket to parade around the field one game. If the really appreciated them the week would have looked like this:

Monday-fired the hitting coaches

Tuesday-fired Ethan Katz

Wednesday- fired Pedro Grifol

Thursday-fired Chris Getz

Friday-fired Rick Hahn

Saturday-fired KW

Sunday-JR announces he has sold the team

That would be appreciation.

it would actually be very on-brand if the Sox fired Grifol, they churn through managers faster than any other team in baseball.

58 games is a good indicator of how things will be. Baseball is a weird game, and many things can happen. Fans can hope if they want, but I don't anticipate great things for this team. They have too many games like the last one against the Angels.

The White Sox are the only team with three full time managers (Renteria, La Russa & Grifol) since the cancelled COVID season. Four if you also count the interim stint of Miguel Cairo.

Gave proof through the night

That Rick Hahn was still there

Teams with two permanent managers since 2020 (11):

  • Detroit (Gardenhire, Hinch)
  • Florida (Mattingly, Schumaker)
  • Kansas City (Matheny, Quataro)
  • Los Angeles A. L. (Maddon, Nevin)
  • New York N. L. (Rojas, Showalter)
  • Philadelphia (Girardi, Thomson2022 N. L. Pennant
  • Oakland (Melvin, Kotsay)
  • Saint Louis (Shildt, Marmol)
  • San Diego (Tingler, Melvin)
  • Texas (Woodward, Bochy)
  • Toronto (Montoyo & Schneider)

Teams with managerial continuity since 2020 (18):

  • 2013 Cleveland (Terry Francona) 2016 A. L. Pennant
  • 2015 Milwaukee (Craig Counsell)
  • 2015 Tampa Bay (Kevin Cash) 2020 A. L. Pennant
  • 2016 Atlanta (Brian Snitker) 2021 World Series Champions
  • 2016 Los Angeles N. L. (Dave Roberts) 2020 World Series Champions; 2017 & 2018 N. L. Pennants
  • 2016 Seattle (Scott Servais)
  • 2017 Arizona (Torey Lovullo)
  • 2017 Colorado (Bud Black)
  • 2018 Boston (Alex Cora) 2018 World Series Champions
  • 2018 New York A. L. (Aaron Boone)
  • 2018 Washington (Dave Martinez) 2019 World Series Champions
  • 2019 Baltimore (Brandon Hyde)
  • 2019 Cincinnati (David Bell)
  • 2019 Minnesota (Rocco Baldelli)
  • 2020 Chicago N. L. (David Ross)
  • 2020 Houston (Dusty Baker) 2022 World Series Champions; 2021 A. L. Pennant
  • 2020 Pittsburgh (Derek Shelton)
  • 2020 San Francisco (Gabe Kapler)

Note - Interim managers not included in the above, be it for health, suspension or managers bridging the gap between two full time managers.

We currently have the third worst record in the MLB.  I’d have to imagine our farm system is also bottom five.  Imagine the incompetence required to have built such a s%*#-show of an organization from top to bottom.  Fire this clown before the 4th of July, sell your rentals before the deadline, and then hire Mike Chernoff in the off-season to fix this mess.  It really isn’t that hard even if it will take some time to self correct.

Also sell TA if you can get a haul for him. Especially to LAD. Get Rushing plus a near MLB ready SP prospect.

The only possible "hire" that they will make is Getz....lulz.

Don't think TA is going to bring back a haul at this point. Especially not from the Dodgers.

Sell him if you can get 90 cents on the dollar.  Otherwise hold and pray he rebuilds some value.  Truly sad that most of the few interesting pieces we have are playing below expectations.

No way is Anderson bringing back a "haul." Once in a while he will show his athletic ability. But the rest of the time he looks bad defensively. Offensively, he's not doing anything. Last season he showed signs of not being the same player. This season, he's even worse. His fall is really mind-boggling.

Hahn literally works for the only organization where his ineptitude and poor performance doesn’t cost him his own job. Far far far better GMs have been let go with their worst seasons being Hahn’s best.

The organization is rock bottom right now. So yes Hahn should be fired as well as Ken Williams. Problem is there's nobody who believes Jerry would hire the right GM to turn this around. Dombrowski is 66 and from Chicago. I doubt he'd do it but he's the only man for the franchise turnaround right now that Jerry would hire (since he knows him).

JR would never give free payroll reign to the likes of Dombrowski...who only had to operate under constraints in Montreal and Florida.

To be fair he rebuilt the Expos farm system into one of the best in baseball and he did OK with the restrictions with the Marlins too.

White Sox fans complain about Grandal, but if they didn’t sign him, they almost assuredly would have extended James McCann, and most would have been thrilled. Look at his numbers since leaving the White Sox.  They look like his numbers before he came to the White Sox when he was so bad the Tigers non tendered him. Now he makes quadruple what they would have had to pay him.
