Jose is consistently behind the count when there's guys in scoring position. He goes up there trying to make contact no matter where the pitch is. He gets down in the count and then swings at some terrible breaking pitches cause pitchers know they don't have to go in the zone with him with 2 strikes. His struggles in those situations are all mental and approach related. He's in his own head.

Give him a bat that reaches the left batter's box.

Or perhaps a #3 wood.
