Kopech giving him 34?

I'll never forget October 7, 1984.

Early afternoon Walter Payton becomes the NFL All Time Leading Rusher.

Late afternoon, Ryan Sandberg spills Gatorade on Leon Durham's glove, the rest is history.

Once a Cub, always a Cub

I have to think if they went to the trouble to add him to the 40 that he will stay and Haseley will go down when Robert is back.

Sensible organizations would do that. We're the Chicago White Sox.

Would love to see Colas after the next injury.

Does maternity leave and Eloy's latest ouchie count ? We got Payton, Haseley and Engel to back up Sheets , Vaughn, Pollock, Leury. Colas might be the only one who actually is a good hitter and a good fielder among those 7 guys. Of course some are AAA , some AAAA and MLB guys and Colas is a 167 PA  AA guy so we don't know who he can actually out hit at this point . But I'd be willing to try since he would be facing mostly RHP and he can actually hit LHP too.

Cleveland is falling apart, with their scheduled starter today (Plesac) fracturing his hand between starts, and Civale also placed on the IL today and likely out the season with forearm “inflammation”.

Tony LaRussa celebrating in the hospital late October is now at 1% likelihood.

New manager same bullshit.

Miguel stated earlier this week he will be in daily contact with Tony regarding lineup construction. So even if all 26 Guardians are out the season, the Sox will still have to get past Minnesota using Tony La Russa’s lineups.

Manager Terry Francona tells reporters that the team believes Plesac suffered the fracture in his last start, when he punched the ground in frustration after surrendering a home run to Jake Lamb (Twitter link via Mandy Bell of MLB.com).

That’s the second time in his career that Plesac has sustained an injury while expressing frustration. He broke his right thumb last May when “aggressively” tearing off his shirt following a poor outing against the Twins.

Thank you Jake!!!

Tony La Russa playing 4D chess, priming Jake Lamb for meaningful 2022 at bats in 2021.
