That said, considering how awful he was in the minors after his demotion, its a borderline miracle he's turned into what he has out of the pen. Dylan Cease also received about $2.4M in from the pre-arb bonus pool but that should have no bearing on his projected $5.3 salary. I expect it to be more though. His value is just going to go up from here imo He's a relief pitcher who really hasn't proven anything yet.That said he is a FA next year and this year should determine how valuable he is going forward. In 2021 he had vision problems and was a terrible starting pitcher in the minors. Once that problem was corrected he's done much better.
