Miami trades for 2nd baseman Azzaez. This could loosen up the trade possibilities for Chaz Chisholm.  He could be a stop gap until Sosa or Gonzalez can prove themselves

Report I read was that Arraez would slot into 1B or DH for Miami.

Now no one should be confused.

I'm still confused by the assumption that he *should* be available when no one really has any clue what Miami is doing, let alone Rick Missing In Action Hahn having any prerogative to pursue him.  Or the presumption that Arraez would play 2B for them, and why its thread worthy for that matter.

and if they trade our boy Chaz, all indications would be they want current major leaguers that don't need to develop...

who is that on our team going out?

Minny has bad pitching.  Now they have better pitching. They also dont have a leadoff hitter....and if Buxton misses his annual 1/3 of the season +, they have really weakened their offense. Bold strategy, this could make them the division favorites, or really blow up in their faces if Lopez doesnt translate well in AL.

wait wait wait the marlins traded Pablo Lopez, their 5th overall prospect, and another prospect for Luis Arraez who may not even be able to handle an infield position?

Amazing trade marlins.

Or they traded a fifth starter and a guy with a 600 OPS in the minors for the batting average but we can all use hyperbole.

For the price, Wendle would make a better trade target than Chisholm IMO. Left-handed bat, excellent defense, doesn't block any of the 2B prospects long-term, and shouldn't require emptying the farm. He's coming off a down year offensively but would be good in more of a platoon role with Sosa (or Romy).

Wendel is a great fit
