Aaron Bummer drawing interest

The next Matt Thornton or Damaso Marte for some other organization...

Not even remotely the same. Bummer had a real good 3-4 year stretch of being an actual MLB player and a dominant one at that. Marte and Thornton had early issues in their careers being established (and throwing strikes).

This is where they could get a significant return, esp if you find a team in dire need of a LH reliever and a bat, if u package him with Burger, you could get another Top 100 prospect plus an additional solid piece.

Advanced stats, streakiness, and everything else, gosh this is one guy I don’t think I’ve had confidence in for the last 3 years.

He plays with one arm tied behind his back after he walks the first batter of every inning. Giving that free pass so frequently is what causes so much volitility with him, and I'd be ok removing that anxiety.

If anyone offers a premium for him (or Santos), then sure.
While his salary for next season is ridiculous, they'll just sign some other ridiculous reliever to replace him.
I'd rather them  use  Kelly and Graveman for dumping purposes.

If Hahn is seriously taking a hard 'no' stance against trading Bummer, as some tweets have suggested, then....well he's still as disillusioned as we feared.

Hahn made it sound like his boss had a lot more wheeling & dealing to do over the next couple of days.  No way he only meant Middleton and maybe Grandal or Clevinger.  I’d put odds of Bummer going at like 75%.

I hope they don't.  They won't get much and will just sign some old guy to replace him; or rush Crochet back in.

Is it my imagination or is Bummer the least clutch reliever in recent white Sox history? Seems like the last few years when we’ve needed him to come through he can’t throw strikes. In meaningless games and when we’re out of contention he’s great.

Then he's perfect for the 2024 White Sox.

Nick Madrigal and Codi Heuer?

Again, I hereby formally request the mods to add a "crying because it's true" reaction.

Chase Petty for Bummer sure would be swell.

If they take a valuable resource like Bummer under control for 2.5 years and boat anchor him with Grandal just to move him to save a buck then the fans should riot.
