Right.  I think someone will grab him tomorrow while eating $750k-$1M left (meaning Sox eat ~$5M).  Otherwise, Sox may DFA him if no takers, and if someone signs him thereafter, that teams owes the pro-rated minimum (Sox would save like $250k of the $6M due).

It's a sunk cost either way.  Cut him loose.  Play literally anyone else.

Uh oh.  It's been really quiet across all of baseball today.  Could be an exciting last few hours.

Without indicating WHO you think goes.. The question I have for you is....

Do you think we acquire 1 more 'top 100' prospect by tomorrows deadline?

No more spending high on catchers or relievers please.

For every Realmuto there are far more Yaz’s that just aren’t worth the money.

Just sign a defensive first catcher.

When Tony's calligraphy guy was here, they had Collins and Zavala, brought in McGuire. Not all stars, but also not $72M albatrosses preventing actual RF and 2B signings.

I would like to see the Sox do what the Cubs did for this season. They purely focused on pitch framing, game calling and defense when they signed Gomes and Barnhart to be their C platoon this season.

I would like for them to sign a defense first vet to pair with Lee.
