The Chicago White Sox are telling teams that ace Dylan Cease and left-handed reliever Aaron Bummer are off limits, but they would be willing to trade reliever Keynan Middleton.

They would listen for offers for shortstop Tim Anderson and will give away catcher Yasmani Grandal.

Also, Hahn told Lopez about the Anaheim trade 20 minutes before telling Lucas.

Quote

White Sox starter Lucas Giolito was sad to see teammate Reynaldo Lopez hugging teammates in clubhouse Wednesday night after their game.

“It was definitely a little shocking," Giolito told reporters. “I saw Lopey and he was dabbing guys up. I was like, 'You got traded, Lope? Where are you going?'" "Anaheim." "Oh my God."

Twenty minutes later ...“I got dressed and I got called in the office and I was in the same trade," Giolito said. “So I guess they are not going to break us up."

bleh hate having to follow nightengale again. Truly the worst writer of the bunch with the healthiest ego.

His “personal touch” opinion on moves is grating

– It’s wonderful seeing Tony La Russa back at work, evaluating players on the White Sox farm teams this past week, after undergoing treatments for his health for the past 1 ½ years.

Love Bob just completely screwing up what trade this was

– Scouts who have watched the Dodgers’ Class AA Tulsa team love the White Sox's return in the Giolito/Lopez deal of starter Nick Nastrini, reliever Jordan Leasure and outfielder Trayce Thompson, believing that Nastrini could be a No. 3 or No. 4 starter with Leasure being a solid middle or setup reliever.

(that was the Lynn/Kelly trade)

This was published yesterday morning.  Feels like old news now.  It's also Boob, so you can take it with a grain of salt.

Ozzie said 90% of what Bob has on the White Sox is true. So it's pretty reliable.

These guys not trading players like Cease and Bummer and thinking they can run it back next year with a few tweaks is one of the more brain dead moves this organization has ever made.

And you guys really think Hahn is going to be fired and KW has taken over? Get real. Its the same s%*#, different season with these guys.

Isn't this at odds with what Rosenthal reported last night?

Correct.  I had to double check to make sure Bob wasn't out saying it this morning.  The OP article was published Sunday morning.  Rosenthal's piece was last night.

Bob reporting yesterday morning that they won't be moved (shilling for the FO to up trade offers), while Rosenthal is stating last night that they are basically available for the right price.

The problem is Rosenthal may be talking to other team sources on how they think the sox are operating and bob is the only one backwards enough to understand how the sox actually operate.

Bob's comments are completely worthless.  We literally heard last night from a far more reputable reporter (Rosenthal) that no one is off limits and Sox are listening on Cease and even Robert.

Bob has been spot on with the Sock according to Ozzie. I'd trust Rosenthal more with any other organization, however. With that stated, Hahn still has his fingerprints all over this team. Not willing to trade Bummer?

When will this team understand, bullpens are volatile. You don't hold onto anyone, except for an elite closer (which you don't have anymore). Jesus christ

They've traded 5 pitchers in the past few days.

Of course they're "listening" on everybody. And a team that comes up short for Cease might be steered to Kopech or Clevenger.

While true, Bob doesn't exactly report anything Sox related that the FO doesn't want out there for one reason or another.  He plays ball with them knowing full well the narrative they want when negotiating through the media.

They're absolutely listening on Dylan Cease. Bob Nightengale is a leak receptacle. If he says something, the White Sox want the information out there. That's how I'd look at it.

If you gave a percentage for a Cease trade, where would you put it at?
