One second rounder right? They gave up 1 second rounder, and in the process removed the chance of them losing their first round pick this year.

With the new cap restrictions, second rounders have value as cheap players.

But now they need to include it to fix a prior AKME mistake. All the while other teams reportedly had interest in Zach.

To really hammer home the fleece job the Kings just did

Got 1 pick back for Zach LaVine. Sure it's their own 1st round pick back but that is absolutely terrible. What a joke of an organization.

Like with any JR team...it's a road to nowhere

Gonna miss Zach. I almost thought we got De'Aaron Fox back. That guy is dope. I would go to games. This trade is awesome for the Spurs. The Bulls are such a sorry franchise that I don't even care anymore. We got some guys. The "pick back" shouldn't count, it's AK "reversing" a failure. He needs to be out of a job. Maybe Zach and DeRozan can cook up some magic, plus all those picks.

So I was in my car when the espn alert went through. I glanced at the text on my watch and was like oh s%*# - Bulls are getting Fox…alright let’s see what they are trying to do….

Than I turned on radio and realized I was wrong. I hate AK and everything about what they have done but at least this is starting to reset things. The pick they got off their own is worthless since they are likely going to talk but I guess this prevents them from messing up that and not even having a pick.

Got to think Vuc ends up in Golden State or Lakers. What will be real interesting is what happens with White, Giddey, Ayo and Ball. Can they find ways to get some more picks or package them for a more intriguing long term candidate?

Can they flip the guys they got? Maybe Collin’s or Huerter for more assets?

The lack of a long-term plan is just astounding.  I have more hope in the White Sox righting the ship than I do the Bulls.  Michael Reinsdorf is just an absolute boob and this front office is an absolute joke.

This is true - albeit Bulls have far more resources which makes it even worse for how bad Bulls are ran. Knowing Bulls AK will get fired a few weeks after the deadline but they will let him be the one who starts the blow up…

They also get a 26M TPE. Knowing Bulls they won’t use it but I would think they could leverage it asap to help another te clear space and facilitate something and get some picks (even if it is buying 3 crappy for like the Suns did a week or two ago - stock up those picks cause you never know what happens and you at least can turn them into cheap depth).

Now get rid of Patrick…albeit maybe if he plays like this off the bench they can pawn him off in the offseason. Good god just burn the whole thing down….

Oh my you mean an insider leaked that other teams would pay more and there was tons of interest? Well that clearly settles it, insiders off the record never have ulterior motives. We can count on them to be completely correct. I always compliment and believe insiders.

Look, LaVine was a problem. He was good enough to push the Bulls to 11th in the conference, but not really higher, and if you want to talk about a mistake - it was tripling down on him with a contract that no one else in the league would do. They did what they had to do to clean that mess up yesterday. They got out of that contract without sacrificing a lottery pick to do it.

If you want to criticize for the contract, go ahead you’re correct, that was where they really got stuck in multiple years of stagnation. Yesterday was what they had to do to end it.

I miss caring about the Bulls. The whole LaVine era was just nothing. Straight up purgatory, and probably the most boring stretch I can remember for a Chicago sports team in a long time.

They quite literally ended up right where they started

Fair point re: Insiders.

But as a counterpoint, AKME are some of (if not the) worst at asset management in the league. I'll argue that bigger sins were: Not trading DeMar and Caruso once it was clear things were falling apart, extending Pat, extending Vuc and just an outright refusal to get a real #4.

Lavine is one of the best pure scorers in the league. Before the new penalties, that contract was gonna happen for any player. It looked a lot worse with his injury + before his return to form, but contracts like Poole, Beal, Simmons, Grant, Draymond, Middleton, Wiggins (depending on how you view him as a player) and I'd even argue Embiid at this point, were/are all right up there. Someone was gonna give him that deal.
