Personally, hard to hate Mahomes, Reid, Kelce, etc.

5/6 Super Bowls.

Burnout and Taylor Swift Backlash.

Kareem Hunt had his troubles, but has become a redemption story of sorts.

Dodgers are outspending the world.  But…

But they don’t really have one flamboyant owner always out front.

Ohtani Betts Freeman…nobody really hates them that I know of.  Respect, sure.

Sasaki is a villain in SD and Toronto, I guess.

Dave Roberts is likable enough.

West Coast vibe is more laid back than markets like NY Boston Philly.

Still only two WS series titles with one tainted…and they were down 2-1 to SD with a bullpen start, very easily could have been three consecutive postseason flameouts.

No really nasty guy in the bullpen like Clu Haywood in Major League.  Kopech has a man bun and Blake Treinen could walk down any major street in the US and not be recognized except by Dodgers’ fans.

How in the world do you not have the Lakers?

Reinsdorf doesn't even crack the top 10, because few care outside of Chicago.

The Lakers still haven’t won anything yet..or recently.

Pelinka can hardly be blamed for making a smart trade.

Celtics are also hard to hate compared to Bird, McHale, Parrish, Ainge, DJ teams.

Don’t follow hockey much….used to be Canadians or Edmonton/LA with Gretzky.

Too late for Angel Reese?

Who was that Duke bb player always hated by opponents and in trouble for cheap shots?  Much less famous version of Christian Laettner…SG?  Pretty sure he’s in the NBA now, maybe Phoenix…

Has to be the Chiefs. The amount of meatballs who truly think the NFL is rigged for the Chiefs is insane.

I think a big chunk of it is everyone is getting tired of Kelce Brothers, Swift backlash too.

The weird thing here is that Chiefs’ ownership is very conservative…so is Mahomes’ wife and resident dumbass Harrison Butker, but Taylor Swift/woke burnout is not insignificant.  She’s been much less visible this year, for the most part.  Probably wise on her part.

The Lakers won a ring 5 years ago and just got gifted another star for the, what, 10th time? Wilt, KAJ, Magic (would have stayed in school if the Bulls won the coin flip), Kobe's agent supposedly worked behind the scenes to get him sent to the Lakers on draft day, Shaq, Gasol, Dwight, LeBron AD.

You smoking the same stuff as Nico Harrison?

I can't even scroll through TikTok without seeing a video trying to prove some muffled audio in game is of the refs tipping off Mahomes hes about to get sacked or some dumb s%*# like that. Or its just over and over baseless claims of how the NFL is scripted.

I voted Dodgers but it's Los Angeles teams and LA sports fans generally. Bring USC fans into it too. I'm not so crazy about CSU Northridge either. Don't even talk to me about Pierce College athletics. I can't hate the Chiefs, they're still a Midwestern, small market dominating the league. You kinda like to see it.

The 'sportwashing' thing is probably the correct vote but it isn't just the Saudis, it's people like Henry and Rubenstein and Cohen and Ricketts too. Money in sport has always been a problem to me but now the sheer amount of it stands to destroy professional sports.

Jerry might be the worst owner in american sports, but the biggest villain? He is hardly notorious outside of Chicagoland.

IDK, LeBron and Adam Silver ruining the NBA and or Rob Manfred making baseball worse instead of making more accessible are far more villainous IMO. But I really don't give a s%*# about the larger sports landscape outside of MLB anymore.

This whole MLB-wide streaming service with blackouts a thing of the past just went poof.

Large market teams/owners win yet again…

Is this supposed to be for us personally or in general?

Personally, it's obviously JR.

In general, the Dodgers probably need to go on a Yankees 1996 - 2000 type run for them to truly be villains. Otherwise they're just a loaded team that didn't win titles.

I'm kind of torn on the Chiefs. I'm as sick of them as the next person, but I do appreciate witnessing greatness. That's sort of how I ended up feeling in those later Patriots years as well.

For me, Mahomes' improvisational style of play is so much more fun than plain vanilla Brady.

He's set the standard for run/pass QBs and the need to be a duel threat to defenses.

Mahomes also has a much more effervescemt personality...but was also overlooked in high school and then at TT until the end of his career.

His dad being an MLB pitcher is a cool side story.

Then there's going from the days of Hill/Kelce air raid to winning with defense and blitzing behind Spagnuolo.  4-5 years ago, that defense could hardly shut down even the Iowa Hawkeyes or Wisconsin Badgers. Now it's one of the core strengths of the team.

Patriots were famous for not having many stars beyond Brady...sure guys like Vrabel, Gilmore some great DL and LB play back in the day.  And then Robert Kraft seemed like such a jerk, too.

Belichick and Andy Reid couldn't be any more different as personalities.

And Chiefs' fans were loyal for 20-30 years when they would always invariably stimble in the playoffs.

They're like the 1980s and 90s StL Cardinals fanbase, but less annoying and not as racist lol.

Notre Dame

Ghost of Ed Farmer doesn’t like this post.

Hard to be a true villain unless you consistently win championships like Bama under Saban.

Dabo Sweeney comes close...or Mike Gundy.

Quite frankly, that post is absolute nonsense.  Jerry wishes his team could be as loved locally as much as Notre Dame.  I am not even an ND fan, but I do deal in reality.

Tray needs to rewatch Rudy and Hoosiers for good measure.

Or maybe Colson can, too.

If the Chiefs can survive all those impending FA losses and Kelce being yet another year older...well, nothing is surprising anymore with the run they're on.

And it's not like he is close to the same age as Curry Green Thompson when the Warriors dynasty started to crumble.

Then again 29 in the NFL is probably equivalent of 33-35 for everyone but Brady.

It's like the Chiefs are in their own league. Nobody can touch them. Mahomes is that much better than anybody else. Chiefs defense is good enough and they will pound the Eagles for No. 3 in a row. Next year? Who's going to beat Mahomes. If he can stay healthy, KC will be right there. Kelce isn't finished yet either. He did it right this year. Fair regular season and now he's turned big-time elite in the postseason. Mahomes is too good and Philly knows it. Philly fans have to be sick about playing Andy Reid's team again. ... And this thing about the refs favoring KC is stupid. Refs may be bad, sure, but they aren't making sure KC wins.

“Well, definitely his first season Dunn earned the fans' ire. He was easily the worst player in baseball that year, so much so that it was obvious even before looking at value stats:

Hit .159 (lol, my memory was .169) with only 11 HRs in nearly 500 PAs; walked a bit, so his OBP ended up being higher than his SLG.

Negative value defensively, limited to 1B and LF positions that demand high offense he wasn't providing

One of the worst baserunners in all of baseball, if not the worst

At least you could count on him for opening day homers!

EDIT: LOL! The second worst player in MLB, by WAR? Alexis Rios. Amazing that team managed to be 79-83.”

Found this thread about Sox villains lol.

Must also include Jaime Navarro David Wells Steve Sax Cory Snyder lol.

Belle has to be up there…nothing to do with his Sox performance, though.

Forgot Lillibridge outhomered Dunn 13 to 11 in Adam’s Ny Times headlining horrific first season.
