I'm in at the pessimistic sub .500 level.

They get off to a poor start and it snowballs. Maybe mix in an injury or two that really hurts early in the year. They wind up seeing continuing erosion of revenues as May/June go on and throw in the towel in July by trading away a couple of their more expensive guys.

I've been wrong basically every year I can remember so I may as well set myself up for that again.

I voted 90 wins. Why not? Better to hope for the best than be "right."

I think the offense could be awesome. I love the top 6, believe Avisail Garcia is going to break out, and Ramirez is going to drive in a ton of runs in the #6 hole. Gillaspie will probably not be as good as he was early last year, but with a platoon partner, should hold up till the end of the year and put up overall better numbers. The bench is better with Soto and Bonafacio, and Johnson is going to be so much better than Beckham on offense. It looks to me like we can bash, and manufacture runs.

The pitching will be good enough. Having a closer will make the all the difference.

80-82. I don't believe in Avisail Garcia, I don't believe in the back end of the rotation, and I have to predict that a couple guys get hurt just because usually a couple guys get hurt. If those things happen, the team has some real holes.

That said, I'm absolutely hopeful for an awesome season, and even if the team jumps from 60-something wins to 80 wins, it'll still be a very positive thing. A playoff appearance very much COULD happen. But I think it's less than 50% that the team makes the playoffs, so my my best guess seems a little negative.

73 last year.

If they don't win at least 10 more, the season really sucked. You never know with bullpens, but if it's a good bullpen and the team stays healthy, it's a playoff team.

I think the division is going to be very tough with some incredible pitching by the top 4 teams. I worry about the lack of power from the Sox, and I don't think the defense is going to be very good. If the Sox can't win 81 games, then Ventura needs to be canned.
