This article is great for anyone interested in the shenanigans that take place in Latin America: https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2020/06/16/mlb-international-free-agents-deals-underage-prospects/5334172002/
MLB and the MLBPA have allowed this exploitation to happen for years. Not allowing the trading of money and pushing the period back 6 months, doesn't make this any easier for many prospects and families.
For sure. You'll never land the Wander Franco's of the world with the strategy the Sox use though. They landed Fernando Tatis so it can happen, but they limit their ability to land talent. I'm thinking there will be an international draft in 2022. While that should help the White Sox, it also hurts a tad because Fernando Tatis' younger brother is the best of the bunch, and White Sox are favorites for him.
