They are 100% clowning him in group chats and when he’s not around.  It’s a coping mechanism for players when a season/team is going this badly.

People in any profession will secretly s%*# on bad managers who are unqualified.

what’s the sox record for lowest attendance? i’m thinking total and average.

Looking at Baseball Reference, their lowest modern day attendance was 1970 with 495,355 and 5,897 a game.  They lost 106 games that year.

Everyone is negative around here right now. Be careful what we wish for about Jerry selling. The devil we know may be better than the one we don't.

Selling to a group that wants to relocate the team is something that hasn't been mentioned but probably a possibility.

The devil we know is an owner who has provided only 7 playoff appearances and one World Series appearance in 42 years of ownership.  An owner who has outright threatened to move previously and appears to be teasing the same tricks again now.  An owner who has never signed a superstar to a $100 million contract.  An owner who is an aggressive antagonist of the players union and wants to suppress player salaries and "win" that fight, instead of winning actual championships.

The fanbase is so down right now that I don't believe any potential future owner could make people any more apathetic than they currently are.  My friends and I are in our 40's and have never been this bitter and disinterested in this team.  We typically plan a weekend trip out of town to visit a new ballpark where the Sox play and this was the first season we skipped that option.

At this point, I think any change would be better than the feeling of helplessness that fans have.  If a new owner comes in and moves the team?  At least, Sox fans can move on instead of being stuck in some sort of weird limbo with an owner who openly antagonizes them and does not try to run the team like a 21st century franchise.

“I've been reading about I've been threatening to move to Nashville,” Reinsdorf said, according to Scott Merkin, who covers the team for mlb.com. “That article didn't come from me. But if we have six years left, we've got to decide what's the future going to be? We'll get to it, but I never threatened to move out."

    .....

Representatives from Music City Baseball, including Dave Stewart and Hall of Fame manager Tony LaRussa, were on hand at the Winter Meetings.

The group's vision, according to its website is "to secure Major League Baseball approval of an expansion franchise in Nashville, although relocation and rebranding of an existing franchise would also be considered.

“I'm optimistic that 2024 is going to be the year that (MLB) expansion is going to be discussed and moved forward,” said John Loar, managing director of Music City Baseball. " ... I think 2024 is a big year for that conversation.

Interesting that Tony is "consulting" with the Sox and also with Music City Baseball.

Steve, it's even harder to manage a Hahn roster against MLB teams.

I really don't see Tony returning to the dugout especially to manage a 90 loss team. Pedro will be here for his contract, pay his dues, and be the Doug Collins of Chicago baseball.

    Doug Collins actually won though
