  1. Unbelievable. The audio of the crowd was priceless. Unbelievable. That ball was just TAGGED. Lidge set down the first two simply, goes 1-2 on Eckstein, seeing-eye single, Edmonds walk, Pujols blast. Off Brad Lidge. Absolutely incredible. Hold off booking those plane tickets.
  2. Win it for you and yours, the faithful White Sox fans. You've given all these years. I hope the wait is over. The city of Chicago has never seen a party like the one that will ensue. I'd love to see it.
  3. QUOTE(traydragen @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 03:30 PM) 1) Has/Did anyone record those games on dvd or video? And if you did I would much like to get a copy of each, I will pay for everything + some extra dough..and 2) Is there anyway to get copies of the Chicago Tribune from out of South Carolina, without having a subscription to the newspaper? I am guessing some newstand carries the Chicago Tribune around here but I'm not sure if there is a way to order just one copy from the Tribune itself..?? Thanks for the help guys..ohh yea and Regarding question No. 2, the Chicago Tribune store can be reached at 312-222-3080. Copies are $10 apiece and delivery is 2-4 weeks. I did not copy down the address, sorry.
  4. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 12:01 PM) It was fun to watch the Red Sox celebrate. The manner in which they won, was really a joy to see, and fueled by Yankee jealousy, was a cherry on top. When does the WS sink in? I don't know if this sounds dramatic, but without question, I and others still feel the effects of it today. Any clip you see, any photo you see takes you back. My wife (then fiancee) bought me the 12-disc(!) DVD set that had the uncut ALCS and WS games as well as a bonus disc. I'm on my second book, this being Stephen King's epic take on the season right now. I cannot get enough. If your boys come through, the media better do the same for you guys. They're all just treasures. What helped is that we took the road never traveled to win. Sweep the Angels, greatest comeback in sports history against our archrivals in the ALCS, make it eight in a row by sweeping the Cardinals. I say take it however you can get it ... I'm still trying to determine whether that ALCS added (pure joy, heavy drinking) or subtracted (mental anguish, no sleep, heavy drinking) years from my life. There was nothing greater than seeing Yankee fans' faces droop during Game 7, us then dancing on their field, walking through New York City the next day like you were king, and not trash talking but wearing an eff-all-of-you smile all day, week and month long. Again, if you're fortunate enough to win, there will be unparalleled joy. You will have the last laugh with your Cub colleagues. You will no longer be the little brother. You will be champions. You will have overcome nine decades of futility while they continue to suffer. That is just too too sweet. Gotta make it happen. As great as the Yankee win was, the Series conquest was it, the parade, the TV specials, the extra media coverage, the stories people told, feeling a part of something monumental, the apparel you wear so damn proudly ... nothing like it, really. I wish that upon you folks. Screw Cubs fans, let them lament.
  5. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 10:43 AM) AL fans are the best. I can't imagine the frustration of battling the Yankees every year. If you're fortunate enough to win the Series, I assure you that the joy true ChiSox fans will feel is unparalleled. I never thought baseball influenced me as much as it apparently did and does. No more inferiority complex, added confidence, lessened pessimism, a monkey off your back ... and the reverse effect for your archrivals -- that's what 2004 did for us and that's what we hope 2005 does for you.
  6. Hey folks ... I speak for most or all Red Sox fans in saying that we're thrilled for you all. You clearly were the best team in the American League, and now it's time to prove you're the best anywhere. An AL pennant is one thing, burying history is another. Sticking it to Cubs fans ... also quite something. Oh, there would be joy on the South Side. Bring 'er home, fellas. You can't be satisfied unless you do. I'll say that if our Sox don't win it, I believe we all feel we'd like yours to.
