    SNL

I have to say, I'm an avid fan of SNL, but in the last few years it has really gone down the pooper. So I thought maybe myself and the rest of the SNL junkies could relive the good old days and list our favorite characters, sketches, and cast members. Post and discuss. I'll be doing more SNL related posts in the future, aswell as other great TV shows. favorite characters: matt foley, harry caray, alex trebek, bennet brower, mary katherine gallagher, martha stewart, sean connery, neil diamond, deter favorite sketches: bill brasky discussions, more cowbell, zagats, matt foley motivational speaker, weekend update, coneheads, the gap girls, schwetty balls (delicious dish), schiller visions, focus on beauty with lori davis, the herlihy boy favorite cast members (in order): will ferrell, chris farley, jim belushi, phil hartman, adam sandler, rachel dratch, mike meyers, tracey morgan....theres really too many more to name
  2. i always look forward to the winter meetings and the free agent market of the offseason. just for fun (but be realistic) what are your top 5 moves for the sox in the offseason (u can go less than five).when your done, provide the lineup and SP rotation (u can add the bench to if you want). i always like to know what other sox fans feel need to be done, this should be interesting. my top 5 moves in order: 1. Resign Dye/Iguchi (its a tie) 2. Trade Vazquez so theres room for BMac 3. New leadoff hitter (possibly trade for carl crawford) 4. Sign a DEFENSIVE 4th OFer 5. sign a long reliever/spot starter/mop up guy however u like to say it Lineup: LF Carl Crawford 2B Tadahito Iguchi DH Jim Thome 1B Paul Konerko RF Jermaine Dye 3B Joe Crede C A.J. Pierzynski CF Brian Anderson SS Juan Uribe Im aware Uribe is an FA at seasons end, but i dont think hes worthy of the top 5, but I would like to see him back. Rotation: Contreras Buehrle Garland Garcia McCarthy
  3. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 01:44 AM) Yeah, I think the Sox need to do something about it. Pull your heads out of your f'n a's and start playing good baseball. KW's done more than he needed to put this team in a position to win the division. If it fails, you can NOT blame KW. Of course, this past series was a hell of a good start(just a shame it ended the way it did). Hopefully they can keep it up against KC. i think you misunderstood, i would not blame KW at all if they dont make the playoffs, i was just wondering if anyone thought this will affect whether we do or do not make a trade.
  4. with the yanks aquisition of abreu and lidle do you think it forces KW to make a move because we need to focus on the wild card and the yankees are leading it right now, with us close behind. the abreu addition helps them greatly and they were able to get a #4 starter out of it in lidle. this will probably have a huge effect on the wild card race and i believe we need to do sumthing to "keep pace" so to say. wut do you think.
  5. if the sox get soriano i think they should trade pods because he would be terrible in center and someone might give you a solid reliever. i dont know who needs an outfielder except the yankees and frankly i dont really want any of there relievers (except rivera..yeah right) but maybe theres someone out there lookin for speed so we'll see. just a thought though really.
  6. i was listening to ESPN 1000 when levine broke the news that the sox acquired macdougal, he also mentioned the possibility of adding another reliever before the deadline. my initial thought was it would be scott linebrink. levine stated earlier in the week that he thought it was going to happen and has not backed off that statement. the only other options i can think of are gordan (big contract) or duaner sanchez or aaron heilman from NY (everyone has heard of this). wut other options do you think there are if it isnt one of these guys?
  7. im looking at tomorrows matchup here, and, in my opinion im thinking it will be a pitchers duel. although, ever since the all star break i have had no faith in this team, i think if we beat santana (and for some illogical reason i think we will) it may be the fire that lights their asses and gets them on a much needed roll. wut could be better than beating someone as dominating as santana? any thoughts and/or scenarios for tomorrows game?
  8. im new here, my first post. let me start off by saying its time to either trade vazquez or send him to the pen. it seems he cant avoid the big inning and this team cannot afford it anymore. ideally, trade him for a reliever, if not send him to the pen because he seems to pitch 4 dominating innings then just blows up. whatever the solution is, its time to close the book on the javier vazquez experiment.
