  1. the 2004 season is right around the corner and the sox have done very little this offseason. However, I feel that we dont need a big siginging this offseason. We already have the upper hand in this division to me. Also if Konerko has a good season along with mags and frank we will be great offensivly. Also, our bullpen will be great if Koch can get back to the way he was with the A's. I also hear that Jason Grilli isnt all that bad and should have an ok year. Shoenweiss , Garland and Buerle should have decent years and loazia hopefully can repeat last year. As long as the twins and royals stay dormant until the season starts i dont think we need to feel rushed on making any big moves.

  2. Have to pitchers that have BAA under .200 against both righties and lefties.  Thank you Kelly Wunsch and Damaso Marte.  Among the other eight pitchers in the league that did it: Gagne, Farnsworth, Soriano, F. Rodriguez, Dotel and J. Valverde.  Here's the link.

  3. I think I smell something. Wait, I got it: bulls***!

Nomar, Nixon, Williamson and a prospect for Maggs, Valentin and a prospect? Epstein would gte shafted.

  4. After reading your responses to my last entry I have thought it over. We are pretty far from perfect in many ways. The only thing that I think will do well this year is our hitting(it all depends on pauly). If kw does something to improve our pitching we can maybe get to the series.

oo and about the sweeney think

    it was mark sweeney

    SORRY ABOUT THAT

  5. I look at it like this,

The sox division is pretty weak, the twins have lost Eddie Guardado and LaTroy Hawkins.

Both of the players were key to minnesotas success the past couple season. Then the twins also have lost A.J. Piezinski who was an over average catcher. Detroit or clevland dont really seem to me as improving that much. Although Detroit is supposedly in the race for Pudge, but it is highly unlikely that they will be able to get him.

Then theres KC. They have had a pretty good offseason for the most part until just recently. They first picked up Juan Gonzalez who to me isnt really all that special, and lost Mike Sweeney who was the captain and best player of that team last year. I dont think Juan Gone can fill his shoes which in result will make them worse.

As for the sox we basically have the same team as last year (except for a few players) and that team finished over 500. The sox need to make one more move this offseason, and it needs to be the aquisition of sidney ponson. He would be the perfect pickup for the sox. He had good numbers with Baltimore and San Fran and would fit right in with our rotation. If you disagree with me tell me why because I would like to no why you think the sox need to make anymore moves this offseason?

  6. Does KW have a plan for getting a big player for our pitching staff? Or will we just stay with what we have already? If you reply give me your reasons on why you picked either one.

Also Juan Gone was just picked up by the Kansas city royals. Do you feel that KC will be the team taking this division this year? :drink

  7. a lot of teams (ex.Orioles, yankees, redsox) have made big signings so far this offseason. So far the white sox have not been included in trying to sign one of the big free agents this offseason. I understand that our division is pretty bad because of the twins loss of Eddie Guardado and Latroy Hawkins, but I still think we need to have a good team to win the division.

Right now I really dont like the way we look, we have a ton of open holes in our lineup. We have no official good leadoff hitter except maybe the very unexpirenced willie harris. Also that trade for Juan Uribe was just plain horrible. Aaron miles had an at bat in the third game of that series with minnesota at the end of the year. If you dont remember he hit a shot over the second basemens head and got a single. I looked at Juan Uribes numbers and they didnt impress me that much. On the other hand Aaron miles could become a great player. :fthecubs :snr :lolhitting :usa :nono

  8. So far this offseason we have seen no signings yet. While on the other hands the cubs have signed about 10 players. Including the newly signed todd hallensworth. Why havent the sox done anything. They talk about how they need to fill the missing holes due to FA. Letting colon sign with anaheim was pretty bad. Do you think that the KW will make any big moves in the near future?

Can the sox get Sidney Ponson or Millwood

But i would rather have ponson because Millwood is asking a lot of money.

How much money is he asking for?

  9. It doesnt take a baseball expert ot figure out that the main concern of the white sox is pitching. Since we lost Bartolo, we need a great pitcher to lead the rest of the staff. I was thinking about kevin millwood. Is there another availiable player that we could add to the roster that would be just as good? or not

  10. I think your idea could work except if you look at the long term. Nomar doesnt want to play here is the first thing. Secondly he is a free agent after this year. Why not keep mags because he is familiar with us. At the end of the year i think we have a better chance at re siging Mags then Nomar.

And about trading valentin. I think jose isnt a bad shortstop. I like having him there. He for the most part is a very clutch hitter. Tell me what you think' :fthecubs
