McCuddy's
McCuddy's was razed just 7 months before I turned 21. Good thing the Sox don't have all that annoying "history" hanging around the general vicinity of 35th and Shields. I mean, look what it did to the Cubs.

Got my fix
I think it is my duty to inform you that you are violating the copyrights standards of Major League Basball by even posessing that tape. I've notified Bud Selig, and he sounded VERY concerned! That said, I'd also be willing to pay for a copy. I was in college at the time and drove 500 miles back to the southside to go to that game. Icould also offer a trade, I have the Bears Super Bowl tape (taped directly from TV). As far as the programs and other stuff goes, there is a HUGE market for that sort of memorbila on eBay.

Books About the Sox
Yossarian - I get it. That's a good one... Major Major? I'll have to read some Asinoff. Never heard of him. Don't know if Bellow was a Sox fan, though he lived on the South Side for a long time. I once rode an elevator with him. Please feel free to give your feedback on my "verrry interesting" blog...

SouthSide Bars ...
I had a bad experience at Schaller's - all old people. Try Maria's at 41st and Morgan. Especially on monday night when the kids from Wicker Park come down....

Looking for a White Sox writer
Hey Jason-- Too bad James T. Farrell is dead - he'd be perfect for that job. I think you should use one of the bloggers - the Cheat or the Exile in Wrigleyville guy. Seriously, why pollute the world with another Phil Rogers or Barry Rozner? (That's rhetorical, but feel free to answer anyways) Do something different!

Books About the Sox
James T. Farrell's "My Baseball Diary"? Its all about the Sox, and the Irish south side... More here: http://southsideadventures.blogspot.com/

Sox blogs
I'm looking forward to more of SoxNet this year. The Cheat and Exile in Wrigleyville do the stats thing better than I ever could. So my angle is a few quick hitters (that's a Coppickism) on the Sox, a minor league round - up and and some bits on South Side culture.

Sox blogs
That's it? That's all the discussion we could get going on this topic? Alright, let me expand it a bit. How many of you plan on getting at least part of your Sox news during the season from a blog? How do the best Sox blogs compare to other readable media, like newspapers?

Spring Classes
Back in the day, when I was at ol Ohio U, I took "History of Baseball" one spring quarter. Sounds easy, but it wasn't... The Prof was the great Charles Alexander, who has written about 10 baseball books... Amazing class. Old time baseball, Ty Cobb and everything..

2005 Birmingham Barons
Hey - welcome. I think it will be interesting to see how Hinton and Rogwolski hit this year - that should give the Barons some power. It would be nice to see if Collaro could make the huge leap from Rookie ball up to AA. Maybe later in the year? Villacis and McCarthy should anchor the starting pitching staff. Does anyone know where Frank Campos will start the year. He's old, but had a great season down in Mexico this winter... http://southsideadventures.blogspot.com/

Lee trade completed.
My thoughts on Hinton from http://southsideadventures.blogspot.com/ "Looks like the guy can hit, though the California League is known for inflated numbers. He's got a poor glove, is slow, has a bad eye at the plate, and strikes out... a lot. At 24, he's already got 4 seasons of minor league ball under his belt. Its possible he'll start the 2005 season at Birmingham (AA). And the 2006 season at Arbys."
