  1. QUOTE(MoreCowbell @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 11:50 AM)
    Then again, with so many games against the Twins in August and September, maybe it won't even matter because they'll be healthy by then and if we aren't playing well, then they could make up ground then.

    It's hard to make up ground when your 20 games out of first... :bringit

  2. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 05:07 PM)
    Nope. Since he hasn't played in a major league game yet, he isn't in the MLBPA so he can't be in the game yet. You can download roster updates later in the year if you play online.

    Ah yes, the MLBPA...hmmm I wonder if Bonds and Damian Miller don't belong either....because they're never in games either. Thanks for the info though...

  3. QUOTE(southsider17 @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 03:11 PM)
    I don't see anything personal about it.  Quickman literally agreed with another poster's contention that you are really a cub fan ..... that's it.  He offered no additional comment (malicious or not).  :headshake

    You need to drop the defensiveness and roll with the punches like you did with the "Hollandsworth" dig.  :lolhitting I don't doubt your Sox fandom even though you're neutral on the cubs, but you must realize you are a rare breed in that respect.  At least on Sox internet boards.

    Sorry, some people are just assholes. It was personal, and I had to let them know they were wrong, thank you. I'm done bumping this thread.

  4. QUOTE(quickman @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 07:58 AM)
    Well maybe you should go back. I really don't believe I used words like Idiot or moron. I agreed with someone other than yourself. Doesn't make me a moron, just a point of view. There is always Whitesoxinteractive.

    No you see it does make you a moron because you based your statement on complete lies. I don't care if you agree with me or not. It was personal attack. Oh well :P

  5. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 30, 2005 -> 05:16 PM)
    Interpretation: Roots for the Cubs on the side or when the Sox are eliminated. (See 2003 season.)

    Further interpretation: Cannot be classified as a Sox fan.

    :P

    What are you a f***in' idiot. Just because I don't needlessly hate a team that happens to share the same city. Yeah Cub fans are annoying at times. That why I ignore them. How dare you :finger

  6. QUOTE(RNemz43 @ Jan 29, 2005 -> 05:54 PM)
    where would you guys rather see maggs go? to the cubs or the tigers? i know we play the tigers 19 times, but im not sure if id be able to stand it if maggs went to the cubs and had a great year.

    Cubs most definately. Sorry guys I don't hate the Cubs the way most Sox fans do. I wish them the best of luck next year and I hope they do sign Maggs. Until we face them in the Series or the 6 games during the season, I could care less what happens with them. :headshake

  7. WE STILL HAVE MORE THAN ENOUGH POWER!!

    Sorry, but don't forget Thomas and Ordonez were injured most of the year and we still ended up 2nd/3rd in the league in homeruns.

    Dye = Lee ...when healthy

    Uribe 23 hr last year Valentin hit 30hr and hit what, .213?

    Everybody in our lineup with the exception of Pods and maybe AJ are capable of hitting well over 20 hrs. Don't worry about it. :bringit

  8. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 02:33 PM)
    He wants nothing less than 90 games. So i don't see him ever playing again. He will just retire i think. Not like his career was anything to be ashamed of.

    Exactly, if he really wants to play, he'll accept a backup job. I think the Chicago's the perfect place for him. We can definately get him some starts and late inning work. If not, oh well, he a potential Hall of Famer and he can retire as a Red.

  9. QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 11:38 AM)
    The Sox still  need to make one more move to get a quality Middle IF... Anybody have any ideas who we can get...

    Im hoping its Tony Graffanino

    Barry Larkin 100%...if not him we might as well take our chances with Valdez and Ozuna

  10. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 06:51 PM)
    Is it just me or do the Mariners have a couple of 26 year olds in their rotation, that I wouldn't mind having on the sox.  You tell me that Gil Meche and Joel Pinero wouldn't fit in well on the Sox.

    I'd take Piniero in a second. Meche kind of sucked last year...I don't think either of them had particularly good seasons last year...now I want to check...

    :drink

    Edit:

    Pineiro: 6-11; 4.67; 140 k's

    Meche: 7-7; 5.01; 99 k's

    ...yeah, I might take Pineiro over Garland, maybe Contreras but that's about it.

  11. LOL...that's the most moronic article I've ever read. And for what??? To overhype the "baserunning" of a mediocre player. Damn that's annoying. ESPN couldn't think of anything better? Please! I can't wait 'til this season starts so we can start kicking ass and shut these morons up. :fyou

  12. QUOTE(JimH @ Jan 19, 2005 -> 09:29 PM)
    It wasn't a specific call (I'd vote for C'mon Timo) but I thought Hawk was at his absolute best after the Hunter/Burke collision.

    It was VERY clear he wanted payback, and right now.

    DJ did a great job of giving Hawk space because you could literally see and hear the steam and venom coming out.  He didn't come right out and say exactly what he'd do but his intentions were abundantly clear.

    And when Hunter came up in the 9th and grounded out on the first pitch, you could sense the huge level of frustration from Hawk that business wasn't handled.

    Not that Hawk was right, or wrong for that matter.  But I felt he personified a lot of Sox fans indignation and anger.  He maintained composure, but just barely.  And then in the postgame show with Chris Boden, he let it snap a little bit ... the viewer could really tell how pissed off he was.

    I thought it was great, and when I reflected on it later, I felt Darin Jackson did the right thing by giving Hawk some room to let his anger seep out.

    That was to me the most memorable Hawk moment of 2004, with the most fun moment being the Timo call.

    Hawk was so totally right. Mike Jackson should've knocked that pussies head off. :bang

    Oh yeah, definately Come on Timo! ...that could've won soundbyte of the year for all sports

  13. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 01:55 PM)
    Just got the word that Bekins agent Berryman Transfer and Storage Co. out of Joliet has become the official movers of the Chicago White Sox!!! This is something that's been in the works for a few weeks now.. and I'm soooooo happy to have had the tip of my pinky finger in it.  :headbang

    It's gonna be awesome to see our logo at the park!!  :cheers

    BOOO! They should've went went with All My Sons(the company I work for)....lol...we're just the Official Movers of Frank Thomas, haha(he's an awesome tipper btw)

  14. QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 03:30 PM)
    Mark Buehrle will get the nod on Opening Day over Freddy Garcia, manager Ozzie Guillen said yesterday.

    The Indians have plenty of time to plan for what they'll be facing on April 4. Guillen also indicated he'd use a lineup of: LF Scott Podsednik, SS Juan Uribe, RF Jermaine Dye, 1B Paul Konerko, DH Carl Everett, CF Aaron Rowand,(C AJ Pierzynski) 3B Joe Crede and 2B Willie Harris. If Frank Thomas is healthy, he'd likely bat third and Dye would be dropped to the fifth spot. Jan. 16 - 2:26 pm et

    Source: Chicago Tribune

    The report neglects where AJ will be batting. Dye isn't the best choice for #3, but not a bad one either I suppose.

    haha, cool....That's the exact lineup I'd go with. And no, AJ wil not bat 6th(they fixed it). And Dye's a perfect choice while Frank's gone. Him or Rowand. :nono
