  1. White Sox will finish 14-6

    Tigers will finish 9-13

    Twins lose enough to disappear...

We had a setback tonight, but will take the next to from LA. Meanwhile, the Tigers and Twins continue to keep us in it. Yes.

O is for Optimism. O is for Ozzie.

  2. QUOTE (north side chi sox fan @ Sep 9, 2009 -> 09:27 PM)
Detriot 9-15 = .500 rest of way for them + 2 x getting swept by Sox

    Whitesox 14-7 = sweep Detriot X 2 + 8-7 rest of way

It's doable. We won the World Series in 2005. We have Ozzie. It's doable.

  3. Think about this. Detroit's lost two in a row (to Kansas City). The Sox win in the bottom of the 13th tonight. Momentum...

If Detroit goes 9-15 the rest of the year and we win each of our last seven series -- meaning we go at least 14-7, we both finish 6 over. Then, we play them in a one-game playoff (with which we have experience) and rip it up.

    Believe.

  4. After seeing Big Hurt getting doused with bubbly post-ALDS clinch, I got to thinking...if the A's go all the way, which is not unrealistic, I think Hurt should get another standing O when he comes back to Sox Park. Not only should he get a standing O, but he should be introduced as two-time World Champion FRAAAAAAANK THOMAS. Not only would it give Hurt his due, but I think Sox fans could use the PR. We don't have the best reputation in the class department.

Essentially, my biggest fear is that Hurt stays with the A's for a few more years, wins a championship (or two...who knows?...not impossible...) and pulls a Carlton Fisk on us by going to the Hall as an Athletic. Does anyone think this could ever happen? Again, probably not totally likely but some food for thought.

    Go A's.

    Go Tigers.

    Go Dodgers.

I forgot how to do that, but thanks for the reminder!

I just voted about 25 times. I really think we gotta chance at this. I'm thinking Verlander might be the guy to beat though. I think that we definitely have the largest fan base compared to CLE, BAL, and MIN. DET fans are coming outta the woodworks lately. I know that walking around Chicago...and especially at that Cubs-Tigers series, there were a ton of DET fans. Even in NY this weekend, I'm seein' lots of DET hats...but also lots of ChiSox hats too. I say Verlander is the guy to beat. Liriano deserves it but doesn't have the support. We can do this. I can't wait to see America cringe when A.J. wins!

  6. I mean, sometimes I really don't know whose side Hawk is on. AJ gets drilled in the same spot not once but twice and all Hawk can do is sit back and talk about how much he luuuuvs e-mail from Aurora (Aurora...YES.)

I was at least hoping that he would reference how one of his good ol' boys from the golden age of baseball would have retaliated to similar beanings. No mention of Burt Campaewriosnfnick. No mention of "Yaz."

Worst of all, he was absolutely silent when it came to criticizing the home plate umpire for warning both benches. Maybe it's time to get a play-by-play guy who at least is on our side.
