  1. No. Torii Hunter ~ Aaron Rowand. Why do would the Sox trade for Hunter, when they traded away Rowand so Anderson could start?

They traded Rowand to get a Left Handed Power bat to fill the DH role. Not to give Anderson a chance to start.

  2. How has Uribe's defense been "bad" this year, him and Crede have been about as good as you could ask for out of hte left side of your IF defensively.

One bad play and he's villianized? Stop letting the Cubs get to your head.. I'm all for adding a CF (TORRII HUNTER) who can swing the bat and brings a great glove, but if we cant work that deal then OK.

Are you guys gonna rag on Jim Thome b/c he strikes out like crazy? No.

  3. "Emerged"? Even the boss of this site recognized that our bullpen was neglected in the offseason.

You couldve said at the start of the season that McCarthy would've been a huge guy out of hte BP (even w/ his 5.38 or w/e it is ERA) and that Cotts and Politte would retain form.

I want to be able to have our pitchers go 7 inning and be up by 2 w/o having thier lead have a pretty decent chance of getting blown and if it means losing McCarthy, then so be it. If McCarthy is what you guys make him out to be, arent you going to be somewhat excited at what we can garner in a trade for him?

  4. we have the 2nd best record in baseball.

    We'll be fine.

Yea, and the reason we have that 2nd best record is because we werent complacent in the offseason. Now theres a weakness thats emerged on this team. The only guys on our team that can conisistently hold a lead past the 7th are our starters.

When you just say "Oh, things will work themselves out", they very rarely do.

  5. we'll know in 2 months when teams start dropping.

If Detroit keeps it up (which I kind of doubt) I dont know how easy it's gonna be to wait 2 months. We've got way too many pitchers pidgenholed in the minors and a Bullpen thats below-average.. this is a good opportunity to open up spots for those guys in the future and get some Bullpen arms so we dont toss away gems like Contreras today.

  6. I'm more worried about Zambrano dominating our lineup than him potential retaliating for yesterday's brawl.

Remember, last season at Wrigley--before Patterson's goof in the OF--Zambrano embarrassed our hitters with one sweeping breaking ball after another.

Uribe and Anderson should be nowhere near tomorrow's lineup. Hopefully, Contreras avoids lasts years first-inning bed wetting against the Cubs where he surrendered a GS to Ramirez.

If Count is his usual self tomorrow afternoon, and our lineup is patient with Zambrano, we could possibly scratch 3-4 runs and pray the bullpen holds a lead. It may be tough, but if there's one person you'd expect to implode tomorrow it's 'Big Z."

Mackowiak will get the start because he's a Cub's Killer. But I dont see why you dont want Uribe in the game... his putrid offensive #'s are buried in the 9-hole where he's damage potential is limited. Were going to need his defense to keep guys like Ronny Cedeno and Pierre from just trying to put it on the ground and run it out. Uribe and maybe Crede are the only guys on this team that have the arm strength to put those two away.

I'd rather the Cedeno-Pierre combo just swing wildly at crap, but theyre going to try and bunt and leg thier way onto base. I dont want Pierre at 1st distracting Contreras, if he even starts to lose focus... well you know whatll happen.

Zambrano is going to come into the game hotter than a hornet. And if he starts getting excitedand throwing 98 mph fastballs high to Thome.. he's gonna catch up w/ one and depending who's on base, we'll be up early.

We have Baseballs best pitcher on the bump after 2 weeks rest against the worst offensive team in Baseball. A no-hitter is a real possiblity... especially with no Barrett.

  8. Zambrano will throw one behind AJ, and warning will be issued and things will get tense again.

If somebody gets beaned it'll get ugly again. One fight is good enough for me in this series, lets get these wins and keep up w/ the Tigers until those Detroit f***s finally come back down to earth.
