  1. I hated to see Nossek resign, but I like the Harold hire. He might be the perfect compliment to Ozzie's style.

I really like that the Sox are loading up the staff with ex - Sox players, guys who give a crap about the organization they are working for. This might be a good way to build some tradition and some "White Sox attitude" for the players, the organization and the fans as well. It's why I've always been proud to be a Sox fan cause our fans got an edge...I'd like to see the organization get that edge too. Build on the fact we're perceived as 2nd citizens in the Second City. Stop whining about it and turn it into an advantage, Us against the world attitude. Hell, I've always felt like that surrounded by dumn cub fans my whole life.

  2. I could actually hear the slur of his words as i was reading it.  Crazy! :D

A couple days ago on Steve Dahl, he was playing tapes of the new Sox promo with Ozzie and mixing in clips of Tony Montana from Scarface. It was pretty good, they sound very similar. Could make for some fun during the season...."Frank, you no run the bases, I break your balls"

  4. I remember last year after we picked up Alomar and Everett, Willie and Rowand went back to the bench. They never b****ed. The rest of the year Hawk and DJ talked about how hard those two were working. From the article in last weeks Trib it sounds like at least Rowand is busting hump trying to improve himself. Though hard work doesn't always translate into talent, it's good to see someone working so hard to improve themselves. It's probably time to give them a shot to sink or swim. They would be the type of players you'd like to see succeed. With Frank, Maggs, CLee and PK they don't have to be studs, just get the job done.

  5. I like the infusion of speed into the lineup that this type of deal would bring. Having Harris, Uribe, Rowand, Erstad, not to mention CLee, Maggs and Olivo in the lineup would change us from a station to station....or station to double play team. The addition of a number 3 or 4 starter would be very welcome too.

  6. Farmer & Rooney wouldn't be so bad if they weren't always talking about what the score would be if whoever was batting for the Sox went yard. Farmer especially. It just gets old hearing... If this guy leaves one up so & so could take him out of here and make it a tie game.....

Other than that they are very interesting to listen to.

Farmer had one of the all time great quotes against the scrubs last year when Alfonseca came in for the first time. He said, shouldn't he be wearing # 24?

  7. I can't believe Bert Blyleven isn't in. No body had a better curve. Alan Trammell should be there too. I guess he needed to do cartwheels before games to get noticed. There weren't too many double play combo's better than him and Whitaker offensively and defensively. As much as I hate the cubs Santo should be there too.

  8. Good 'Ol Ron Karkovice!

And in case you didn't know, he was an actor for a short time before his baseball career, and appeared in "The Wizard Of Oz."

That's the funniest thing I've seen in weeks. I can't stop laughing, that is so perfect!

I'll vote for Brian Downing, Eric Soderholm, Jim Spencer

  9. On the Thomas situation, he is the greatest hitter in Sox history but I real feel he is the cancer on this team.  It's time for him to move on.  :(

Bingo!! I think the same thing. After Frank's announcement last year he was swinging for the fences, the whole team did. It seems like he is only playing for his "hall of fame" stats now. Frank was and still is an awesome hitter, but I don't think he has figured out his legacy will be much greater if he contributes to a championship team rather than just rolling up big numbers for mediocre ballclubs. I too think it's time for Frank to move on. This also would free up some salary to fill some holes.

  10. Not only that, but even Dusty said in his conference that they have built a great foundation for "next year"!  :lolhitting So he is fitting in just fine with the "Wait until next year" slogan of the Laughable Losers!

If you look at the cub lineup it really isn't a foundation for the future. Other than E-ramis Ramirez all other starters are well into their 30's. The starting pitching is young but the bullpen is a mess.

  11. I'm just sick of 3 straight years of poor fundamentals (no situational hitting, poor baserunning, mediocre fielding). Add to that a team that exhibits little intensity and leads the league in excuses...we played a number of teams this year when they were hot...Konerko / poor hitting backround....Frank.

I hope Manuel doesn't make it from the dugout to the clubhouse on Sunday before he is fired.
