  1. Can someone smarter than me and with more time research Whitesox record in games below , let’s say 50 degrees in addition to certain players ( Moncada offensive number in said cold; what these number actually look like?

Please stop. If this team is not going to be competitive for a year, or two, why trade for Pederson, who has just 2 years left on his contract? If that is the next move, of this front office, then I will join those, who insist that they are totally inept.

It would fit timelines of when our prospects are ready to contribute

A lot. I'd have said Kopech if he was healthy, so Cease?

Kopech is someone I would consider but that is me being biased since he completely ignored me and my three year old asking for autograph while playing on Barons against Jumbo Shrimp here in Jacksonville; Kopech just seems like Hollywood AHole

there is zero point for the white sox to trade anything for pederson if they don't sign one of the big fish this offseason.

Right zero sense I agree let delmonico and Palka play but this is the Whitesox we are talking and making sense isn’t common knowledge

It seems implausible that Boras would let Harper be so transparent, as to purposely eliminate a suitor, in a competitive bidding situation. That would be so foolish. Even if he prefers another location, or team, why reject a bona fide contender for your services. Boras would surely want to string along the Sox front office, just to drive up the price to the eventual winners.

Just like Lozano did to Whitesox more or less, with that said perhaps Whitesox have learned and came out and said they won’t get into bidding war for Harper but are interested

  6. How often with these big contracts are the teams always known, granted small sample size of mega stars free agents to compare but it seems almost as if , when we hear something the deal may have passed and I feel less confident. With the whole Machado pursuit just seemed like we knew to many details and to good to be true Whitesox were favorites but nonetheless i am sure it is false hope with Harper also and like always with these free agency pursuits Whitesox won’t land him, seem to be reason why the rebuild took place to begin with.

That may also be true, however how else do you explain that our front office has suddenly lost interest in their previously concerted and determined effort to sign him? Has he done something to turn off Sox management? Have the anticipated contract numbers and conditions greatly exceeded their original assumptions?

This is where I am at also, only thing that would make since is if Whitesox were told no or he wants to play west coast; At then the east coast losing two stars to west coast like Harper and Machado is sad

Scott Boras is not going to let a team operate in the shadows

If we are the favorites why not ? Yes I realize I don’t even believe that we are but apparently Padres were involved with Machado for a month yet over heard things over last 4-5 days; to me Whitesox could really use a superstar to take pressure off young talent

  9. While the hope has narrowed that Harper comes to Whitesox, I do find it interesting that none of our resident insiders in this site have added any sort of crumb or bit of information at all good or bad, either Whitesox have nothing going on at all ( likely ) or indeed have been told to stay off social media; it’s probably nothing but could be something

I never said something was happening at Sox fest. Chili said something was happening and and everyone was talking about that and I said something like "I wonder what the Sox do with the info" or that if he release something watch their twitter on the hour.  I was operating off of something I had heard from someone else but I was not at the liberty to share and didn't see anything other than speculate. And, I don't have any info on it but Hahn said this weekend that things fell through in the last 48 hours. The Sox are setting up their moves for if they get Machado or if they don't. If Lozano has heartburn the Sox may be less inclined to complete a given move.

This offseason I haven't been able to really talk about anything as a fan. I've said stuff in the beginning of the offseason and immediately had to respond to my post that was screenshotted and brought to twitter. To be clear, I may not on twitter or soxtalk all week and then yesterday I am informed that I am in the middle of some big kerfuffle where literally 75%+ of the info being thrown around is wrong and a lot of people who haven't been here for a few years is saying stuff that I don't know where they get it from. Also, please keep in mind that I work really long hours and focus on my personal life on the weekend. I may post something and not see the response to it for 5-6-7 days. I may post during lunch (like now) and then be staring into my work until 9PM. I am not running for anything, I wish I could post more. There are far too many people here who would gladly acknowledge I'll back up words far beyond where I need to go.

A lot of this drama is going to happen naturally with the Sox being in the midst of this big saga but when it devolves into throwing stones at Shack I don't know what to tell you. I should say, I was very happy to see some of the older posters come in and put the hammer down on that as they historically have.

I think we all *cough cough* especially the newer posters *cough cough* need to have a bit more of a questioning mindset of these new posters with sources. In the past, you'd be questioned pretty hard trying to pass info as a new poster. Now there are reddit burner accounts breaking news and anything is considered and that's fair but just try to take everything in stride. I think this whole dilemma has shown the execs aren't confident in anything. It's had the national insiders being dragged through the mud. The local insiders have looked ridiculous. People are being used left and right.

The players are running out of time. Relax until then.

I appreciate the posts you take time to share, as well as others that share inside tidbits and details. I have been reading this site for awhile and very often I scan through pages to search your replies/ posts as well as the handful of soxtalk legends ( my opinion ). Like others have said the majority of us appreciate information and a small percentage will always seem to challenge anything but that is just about any aspect in life today, in fact a few co workers at my job have debated on why water fountains outside of restrooms automatically only give cold/ room temperature water why is there not a warm / hot option. This is actually is not true and never took place but maybe it can be something we debate until the next insider posts any good news

  11. Based on the rumored deal of Bummer, Fulmer and Rivera for Pederson; also with idea something holding it up and possibly Realmuto being culprit how likely is it Whitesox are trying to facilitate the three team trade and have interest is someone also from the Marlins? Although I have made quite a few fantasy baseball trades in my lifetime, I am no expert in real trade scenarios. So thoughts on Collins for Brinson? Is value there , granted lower value Brinson coming off his poor season; Could whitesox essentially get Brinson and Pederson to round out the Outfield with Eloy and Jay as Fourth OF all while giving up Bummer, Fulmer, Rivera, Collins, Delmonico ( to Dodgers if Verdugo goes to Marlins) just a thought and entertaining escape from the real world cold in the Midwest, I am in Florida sorry but I did have to wear a light jacket to work this morning, sorry that’s not fair I apologize! Have a good day everyone I am going back to lurking for next ten years

  12. Would anyone be interested in Nate Mclouth, hes recovering from a concussion right now but has the speed on defense and decent power from left side. Might be a cheaper option then some of the other big names mentioned, I havent heard anything just wondering if he is a name that might come up as under the radar.

  13. I only think that the sox should do this because we face three left handed starters in a row for the next three games. This will allow Ozzie to play him at DH in at least two of those games and maybe the field in one. Then he can play a game or two this weekend in the field and rest over the all-star break. The more games we can get out of him before the trade deadline the better. This will allow KW to see him in live game action and decide what to do, come July 31st. Ofcourse this is also assuming the sox were going to activate him after the all-star break anyways, why not now, especially since they say he has been taking swings while being out? Just wondering your thoughts, if I get bashed too much, it will be another year before I post again, j/k

  14. I seen the 20 milllion still left on his contract from another site. Curious on how the contract is broke down if anybody has that info that would be great. If the contract is for four years and 5 million a year then maybe Boston picks up half that wouldnt be too bad of a contract. I would consider him an upgrade to uribe next year and more depth than we have now.

  15. I think he played third base in Tampa, and can bat leadoff. If and when Crede comes back he could still be speed off the bench. He is currently on DL but expected to come off soon. With his contract he should clear waivers. If Boston takes some of the salary, would he be a good fit to help us get to the playoffs?
