  1. FanGraphs says that Davidson was Arizona's best hitting prospect:

    Davidson is Arizona’s best overall hitting prospect and he’s solidified his case to stick at the hot corner after spending the 2011 season split between the hot corner and first base, He still makes youthful errors at the position but he’s improved in almost every aspect, including his footwork, throwing/accuracy and range. At the plate, Davidson shows impressive gap power that should produce a plethora of two-baggers and 15-20 homers in a full season. His high strikeout totals will drag down his batting average at the big league level.
  2. I watched the USA Collegiate National team take on the Cuban National team last night in Des Moines (America won in extras). Carlos Rodon was on the mound and was as good as advertised. 3.1 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 4 K. Another top prospect, SS Trea Turner, was really underwhelming. 0-4, 2 K, 1 BB, and a RBI. He couldn't catch up with the fastball, struck out on a pitch in the dirt, and popped out with a bunt in extras.

  3. I'm the only one who voted "Among top 5 in org" so far, a little surprisingly. I probably should have answered in the 5-10 range, but from reading around, it sounds like he is one of the very few prospects in our system who has big-time potential, so that has to mean something. Also, Jason Parks of Baseball Prospectus, their lead scout, has convinced me he should be considered a top prospect in our system after what he tweeted earlier this month and with what he said today too.

  4. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 6, 2013 -> 01:31 PM)
    Black is 26, in AA, and a 14th rounder. He's been old at every level he's played and I don't think we should think about him and Wilkins the same way. They very well may both wash out, but Wilkins is a lot closer to being a legitimate prospect IMO

    I agree, I've seen him put ahead of Wilkins on a couple of occasions here, and I don't understand it.
